^^^That's what im saying too. After reading this i have decided to ditch the whole power steering pump/lines and reservoir. Car is not a dd and does not have a/c anymore so this is not a bad mod for my car. This mod along with some s/c detroit rocker cams, and strange struts will hopefully help my car run low 11's at high altitude.

How about the other way around? Anybody gone from EPAS to electrohydraulic? That's what I'd be interested in.

In order to do that, you'd have to add a power steering pump to your Coyote. And doing so would probably mean ditching the A/C. Then again that might be an option if you're going for a full-on race build.

A full on race build isn't going to have a/c or p/s.

You guys are right, for some reason when I hear "full race build" I think of drag racing.

computer/speed control seems like it would be more accurate then hydraulic with regulated pressure but then again, how much amperage does the epas pull and how big of an alternator would you need to support it ?

The fuse used and power lines are quite big so I guess the demands are high but take into consideration that these high demands are at very low speed/stopped when the effort required by the motor would be higher. Anyone knows if road racing projects like the 302r does anything weird in this area?

I'm going to stick to this idea, hope when you're acting like an extra in the fast and furious that you're not on the street.
I've had no issues with my steering.
Not sure I am seeing the benefit to a swap like this for strip use, the power steering pump is not really dragging the engine till you turn the wheels.

No way bud..on the track only!! Was told it was because of the high rpm on lock was causing the problem..would a different fluid be any better u think?..:)

I am bringing this topic back as I am planning a coyote swap in my 05. I talked with Paul from Pauls Automotive after reading about his coyote swapped 2006
http://www.paulsautomotiveengineering.com/news/06-mustang-gt-with-a-5-0l-coyote-swap-2

He puts the epas racks in his early swapped s197 cars! he did say that it is necessary to fabricate an extra mounting location for the rack but told me it was basic, He will be sending me more info on wiring the epas ill keep you updated!
