As to your statment with the followers being on cammed cars...unfortunately no. My car is not cammed, my mazda was is not cammed, the f150s with this problem are stock cams, and many mustangs are stock cammed with this problem :( But your followers are in once piece which is more than I can say for mine lol.

Like I said I wasn't sure . I had only heard the problem was most common on a/m cammed cars . Thanks for the info , seems Ford needed to upgrade the followers , hopefully they did on the new 5.0s

good luck pete! hope it's no big deal

Thanks Brother , I hope its something simple , really dont want to re-build the motor right now . I was looking to upgrade the Turbo to a bigger 80mm and put a cage in the car to go to some events, I also have my fox body which if basically done , Im just doing little things on it for the suspension , so another expense would kill alot of plans right now.

No news yet , Ive been busy at work and the car is sitting at MAK Performance . We should be able to do a leak down this week . I'll take it from there .

Pete you dont need jesel fallower you are spining stock rpm range...

I didn't say he 'needed them' - I just said they are very nice. I wouldn't think twice about using the stockers if I was spinning/shifting below 7000 rpm.

Personally, I just had too many valve train issues in the past and went overkill on my RGR motor but it has been holding up like a champ to all the abuse I have thrown at it...:beerchug2: Damn 8 sec car runs like a bracket car...lol

The Jesel followers are Great ,but I just cant see myself spending that kind of money on stock heads . It would be different if I were spinning it 7500 but at 6200 not worth it for me . Now unless they want to sponsor Me a set , we can show everyone what stock heads can do with some cams and spin it up to 7000 plus.

+1 on the leak-down test. A compression test will tell you which cylinder is weak but a leak-down can help you pin-point the actual issue (exhaust or intake valve, piston ring, even a head gasket).

Hoepfully it isnt something major, good luck.

I know you stated you swapped the coils, but did you perform a coil stress test on the #5 coil? You could possibly have an issue on the primary (low voltage side) of the coil. I'd suggest a scope trace of both the primary and secondary side of the coil. You would need to backprobe the primary connector with the engine running and use the yellow CoP clips with the VMM. There is a TSB on CoP stress testing. Let me know if you need a link to it.

Also, did you perform a Relative Injector Flow test with the IDS?

I assume you performed a Power Balance test with the IDS. Did you see a negative dipping spike on the #5 cylinder? Was this at idle? How about under load? How much was it dipping?\

Also, what does your Mode 6 misfire data say?

I agree and I don't use stock heads - I don't think there is anything stock left on my motor...lol:beerdrink:

Power test balance was under load , dipped to almost 20% , we disconnected the injector and it dipped further.
We switched coils and ran test again same thing happened . We then did a relative compression test and all eight were perfect in the green.

Update time :

Ok today Willie did a leak down , 7 cylinders were between 18 and 19% , 1 cylinder was between 13 to 14 % , and get this it was cylinder# 7 that had less leak down.
He ran the test with the motor cold , so being that my motor is built on the loose side doesn't seem like its hurt. The problem has to be elsewhere.
Bad injector driver , or bad injector. Tomorrow we will look further but seems like good news for now.

How about the spark duration and peak KV output of coil #5 vs #6?
