I'm getting ready to pull my engine out of my 06 GT and am wondering where is the best place to lift from since I'm pulling the engine and transmission at the same time. Just looking to see if and how some of you have done it.

I use one alt hole and one tranny hole. You can run the bolts through the hole from the inside of the block.

I always seperate the block from the tranny. lots more work to pull the tranny too, if there is no reason to pull it out, leave it in the car.

I'm pulling the trans also because I'm doing an auto to manual swap. The new engine and trans are already together and it would be more of a pain in the ass to install it on jack stands rather than putting it in as one.

How many kept the hood on? I'm terrified I would never get it re-aligned again.

I take mine off, it takes a whole 3 minutes to do. I also remove the fan shroud. With the hood and the fan out of the way it goes in and out very easy.
