Engine Whine

Replacing the smooth idler pulley did the trick. The whine is all gone now. Thanks for the help guys.

Silverstang23, we just got 2011 Mustang GT and looks the same symptoms. Ours is manual. Did you fix it yourself, was it easy DIY job?

Nice. The smooth idler went bad on mine in 2013 or so and I had to replace it. Same as you it sounded as if I had a blower or gear drive cams.

Had same issue 2 years ago, but changed only the bearing (and of all idlers, 3 more had near by failing bearings).
