Right now everything is stock besides my SLP loudmouths. I want to get new headers and an off road H pipe. Now before you hound on how loud that will be, I know. I just don't want that raspy sound. Will I have that raspy sound with an off road H pipe? The loudness wont bother me, but will it sound like crap? I want it loud but not to sound like crap. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I had a off road X pipe with loudmouths before I bought my headers. Drove it for about a hour and changed it right after lol it was embarrassing to drive.

This. I had Pype Bombs and an off road x. My stock mufflers were back on as soon as I got home.

You should by a Riush Extreme cat-back so I have an idea of what it will sound like. I am considering LTH'S and an off road mid pipe.

From experience I ran deletes, and then dumps with an O/R X.. At idle is the only time it sounded nasty. Otherwise you sounded like a old diesel truck, shit was raspy as hell.

Alright thanks guys! What about hi-flo cats? would that tone it done enough?

High flow cats and loudmouths sound great. Until the cats break apart, I had that setup and my magnaflow high flow cats broke apart after only a year. Here's a vid of that setup, I have a lot more you can check out on you tube.

At idle it will sound sick, but that's about it. It sounds like shit around 2-4k rpms, and will just have a very...undefined sound and tone to it. Your best bet is to have some mid mufflers welded in.

Heres with no mufflers, o/r x, just custom deletes I made. It sounds good on HD, but it trumpets bad in 2-3k RPM. Its just unnecessary lol. Put some Pype M80s or Magnapacks on there

Starts at like :26

Just get some magnapacks or other flow through mufflers welded in as mid mufflers. That will give you all the tone you need and you can still keep those SLP tips.

edit: woops reading>me.. but ya, do that

Would it still be pretty loud? and without the raspy sound?

Essentially it would sound close to some of the setups on youtube with LT headers, o/r mid pipe and that brand of axlebacks.

I think it would still be plenty loud for you and it would give it a tone that would simply get lost in the noise if you went without anything.

This is my own personal experience but i had SLP LM on my 06 vert. With stock exhaust except for the mufflers, it sounded great. It was as loud as my sn-95 4v with long tubes, off road x and bassani cat back.

When i installed the single turbo the LM's were to loud for my taste. Also with the Y-pipe from the down pipe the lm's sounded like a truck under full throttle and was raspy like a off road h pipe v6 when you free reved it.

My car was tuned 2 hours away from my house. As soon as i got home i installed the stock mufflers. Which sound amazing with the y and turbo. Plus i hear more turbo noise. HAHA

But some people love them off road. Just to loud for my own taste.

Just for reference this is LM on 76 mm single turbo, 3 inch down pipe and 2 1/2 y to the lm mufflers.
