Alrighty... as you may know... I have posted alot of what if type threads here about tires and such.

Here is the jist of what I need to know:

Stock 17" inch wheels, 8 inches wide.
275/40/17 on all 4 corners

Will it fit with no further modification?

fit where?

under the car yes no issue at all

on the wheel......they will fit but IMHO will bulge a bit as they are spec'd to a min 9" wheel. will they work yea, but not to optimal performance

:2cents:

sorry I wouldnt have a way of quantifying that. IMO it would be more of an issue for cornering then straight line

Gotcha. I don't like corner carving at high speeds anyways. There aren't any good places in Colorado to do anything like that... so I dunno.

How about a 255/50 in a 17" rim? That's about identical almost...

Plus, I would gain back some of that performance you were talking about stkjock.

Not to sound like an asshole... but what do you suggest? Honestly.

I don't really know what your goals or criteria are. So I don't have a suggestion. I just wanted to point out that the tire is quite a bit shorter so you didn't buy them and then be disappointed.

Here ya go:

-The car will mainly be a daily driver, to and from work, in Colorado.
-Want to be able to adequately handle Street/Strip action without embarassing the shit out of myself due to inadequate tires.
-A tire that can handle THAT much power, without scaring the shit out of me due to wheelspin @ WOT.
-A decent amount of tread life, relative to the price of the tire. If they are expensive ass tires, >~$220 a piece, then they better last longer than some other tire that is cheaper.

Large question?
Does the tire manufacturer recommend putting that tire on an 8" rim?
In the brand I chose the widest I could go is 255/45/17.

Then you have a dilemna. I don't believe your goals can be met, especially with an 8" wheel.

Bad news.

Fuck.

I want, and now I probably NEED new wheels... but promised the wife I wouldn't order anything else until I got home and took her on the honeymoon we never had...

Dammit.

I run about that power level and I'm running Nitto DR's on the street on a 10" wheel in the rear. They have ~8K miles on them and still have plenty of tread. They cost ~$300 per tire. They're great for the street, but I couldn't get any traction at the track. So I have a different set of track wheels and tires.

Must be nice to be able to afford that much. :omfg: The Kenne Bell drained my checking account. :helpme:
