Get as MUCH advice as you can from others. Sometimes it's not always the best advice from individuals, but it's always nice to have a wealth of information.
You can learn a lot if you film yourself taking the lines too.
But most of all, HAVE FUN!!!
either way, Dan's right, but then again, that's all theory, it's just nothing but practice man! now that would be bad ass!!
+1. I found a video a while back explaining conering, braking, how to find the apex of turns, heel toe braking, and a lot of other shit.. I think it was youtube, or maybe it was on spike a while back..either way, Dan's right, but then again, that's all theory, it's just nothing but practice man!

i can heal toe barefoot but when i put on shoes they get in the way and i cant do it
Most SCCA regions will give novie drivers extra instructions and help. The ones around here do a novice walk through of the course and give some pointers about the correct line through the turns during the walk through.
Also if you ask for an instructor to ride along with you, they will give you pointers.
the throttle is not an on/off switch, and treating it as such will upset the car.
Look ahead, autoxing one gate at a time is slow. You need to be thinking one or two moves ahead, taking corners in such a way that the next becomes easier.
