I guess I'll make this my first post around here. I went to Montgomery Motorsports Park over the weekend to finally run my 5.0. Being that I had the stock tires I didn't see myself leaving the 12's. I remember seeing a guy out there with a Redfire California Special that had S197FORUM across his windshield.

Best pass: I was getting such terrible wheel hop in 1st and 2nd on this run I almost wanted to call the pass, but it turned out ok.

Best 60' on this run and consistant times (low 2.0 60'). Gotta love the consistency. I blew my last run again my friend with a turbo'd Civic hatch and ran a 13.1 with a 2.4 60', but the trap was still 113.

I've got a full suspension coming in tomorrow, but the mods as of this video are Barton Short Throw, Barton Shifter Bracket, Boss Intake Manifold, JLT CAI, Steeda Strut Tower Brace, Lethal Performance Offroad X, Borla Stinger Axle Back, SCT SF3 Tuner, Bama Tuned 93R

It's a mixture of things my man. Ford K Springs, Koni adjustable shocks/struts, GT500 upper strut mounts, J&M Adjustable panhard bar, J&M lower control arms, rear sway bar relocation, and BMR lower control arm relocation brackets.

Been looking at drag radials, but I'm torn between 275s and something bigger. I can't seem to find the best option for something bigger yet. I want to push 315's if possible, but I don't want to buy the race stars and ET streets and them have fender touch.

I wanted a nice mix between street and strip worthy and I think I should be able to accomplish that with this especially with the car being my grocery getter. Being a single young man sure has it's advantages lol.

That suspension will make a big difference in handling, and it should help on the drag strip too, even though it's not a drag setup. What size wheels are you wanting to put the drag radials on?

Yeah, wheel hop sucks. Good control arms rule!

Makes me almost want to trade up to a 5.0..

Good run man! Pretty impressive. I bet long tubes and gear would push towards the 11's with suspension.. damn I'm really thinking 5.0 now. ugh

Thanks. I honestly believe it has 11s in it as it sits if I could cut a quicker 60' and not spin 2nd, but well have to see how everything works out come November when I head back up there with suspension and drag radials.

Nice Pass.
Not sure what size rear race star you looking @ but i run 295/55/15 MT DR. and they hook great. You will definitly benift from the new suspension and sticky tires.

The suspension will help, but you'll need to tweak the shocks and struts a little, and consider changing springs if you can't get it to hook on the Ks. Might want to install an adjustable upper control arm and mount so you can dial in the pinion angle.

I was looking at anything from 275 to 315 MT ET streets. I'll look at the 295's.

I have been considering upper control arms for a bit. It's definitely on the to-do list along with the aluminum driveshaft.

Cool, let me know when you're ready and I'll PM you the S197forum discount. It's 10% off of the UCA kit on uprproducts.com, so that'll give you an idea of what your price would be. No commitment required. :thumb2:
