Not bad for my 2nd time out (have only made 1 pass previously in my life). At least I was consistently bad, lol. Was spinning off the line going from idle. Probably could have let out some air from the rear tires and been fine but I've got plenty of time to figure it out. Was good getting a baseline for improvement. Trans is auto.

My mods include:
Kook's Headers (1 5/8") with catted-x, 4.10 gears, JLT CAI, Dyno tuned @ Street Lethal Performance, Pypes Pype Bomb Axle-back Exhaust, FRPP 62mm Throttle body, Hawk Performance HPS Brake Pads, DBA Cross-drilled/Slotted Rotors, Steeda HD Strut Mounts, Steeda Sport Lowering Springs, Koni Sport Adjustable Shocks ("Yellows"), BMR Adjustable Panhard Bar, BMR Billet LCAs w/Relocation Brackets, BMR Adjustable UCA w/Mount, Steeda Bumpsteer Kit, Steeda Adjustable Front Sway Bar End-links, Steeda X5 Balljoints

I had the Koni's set as follows:
Front: Full soft
Rear: Half turn from full stiff

Rear tires are Nitto NT555 275/40-18 (32psi)

Realistically, I'd like to break into the 12s and go from there. Thinking DSS one piece, Axles, MT ET streets, and safety loop + seat time should do the trick.

Also, I found it strange that they had both lanes set up so that you couldn't avoid the water box. I thought it would be better on street tires to avoid that but like I said, not very familiar. Any help is greatly appreciated guys.

What was the DA? Did you do any kind of burnout to clean off the tires? You should if you didn't but don't do it in the water box. Do it past it. Was TC and OD turned off? They should have been. Running your car cool will net you 2-3 tenths faster times than when at normal operating temperature. With street tires I never let out any air.

Like the pics!

Not sure of the DA, it was 70* and the track elevation is 1280ft. I wish I would have thought to look up this info when I was there. Did a burnout after the box. TC/OD were off and I waited about a hour in between runs.

tires + converter = 12s

/ thread

I'll have to look into a converter. Not sure what would work for my plans but I'm sure that's just a search away.

Run faster......

Lol but seriously Dave has it right. You have the gear, a converter with a good tire will get you into the twelves.

How did you put a fender on a 5.0 with a .7xx reaction time?

I had him through the 1/8th and he left me from there. He ended up running a 13.2 (12.8 later in the day) to my 13.5...we both fell asleep at the tree, lol

MPH looks really low for the mods to me however I just got my car and came from an ls1.

Do these thing really run these kind of times with these mods? Hell my buddy has a 00 gt vert auto with intake xhaust and 3.73s and runs the exact same times on a 2.0 60' I thought these cars were faster than the new edge cars.

At a minimum I'd get tires and go from there. Oh and more practice on the launch.

They do run faster than the new edge I'm trapping 108 with 3.73 and about the same mods.

There is a site that you can calculate the DA. Someone knows it I'm sure. I would expect 105 trap give or take. Def needs a 3k+ stall.

The site is listed in one of the sticky's but I don't have the necessary data to calculate it.

Wunderground.com

I can't get accurate data from Sunday via that site (maybe I can, I just don't know how).

BUT, if I plug in 70*F, 1320ft Altitude, 30.05in pressure (current), and 50*F dewpoint, I get DA of 2351ft.

So, how would this effect my time?

Tires will get you in the 12's easy, converter will get you deeper, should be trapping 105-108 with those mods though.

I found this link...could be helpful. Gave me weather data for a previous date at MY specific track.

According to this calculator, at ~4pm (time on my slip), my DA was 1957ft which given my ET and Trap puts me at 13.224 @ 100.344 MPH DA corrected.

The altitude isn't helping, but your mph is low. My best 60 ft on the stock converter was a low 1.9 and best ET was a 12.9x with 4.10s, intake, tune, x-pipe, drag radials and lower control arms. It was winter time and the air was damn near perfect. You can do it for sure though with your mods.

I always use Dragtimes.com to calculate the da. Love that site. 2300 da would most definitely effect your times. Havent calculated it but thats about 3 or so tenths that the da is costing you compared to 0 da. It seems to me atleast that for every 1000' in da change my times change b/w a 1-2 tenths.

More seat time will help. Get a set of big/lils w/ dr's & a converter. I'm still on the stock converter & bolt ons & am running high 12.3's-12.4's......mine is all in the da, tires & a good tune
