Fore hat fuel sender?

Hey guys need some help figuring out exactly which fuel level sender I need for my fore hat.... The hat is for a 2010 car but mine is a 2005 I ordered a level sender for a 2010 gt thinking that was the correct one but it doesn't seem to look that way now that I have received it.

the sender should be 2 pieces you need to take it apart and the small part should slide in

thats how it works for 08-09 2010 is a goofy year though

I know on my 2010 it could only be used for that year, it did not work correctly on an 05-09 car.

^^^^^this. Works just fine in my 05. Pinch the arrow shaped end and push it back out of the larger plastic assembly. Then insert into the Fore fuel hat.

Edit...this is a newer sending unit. Not the original out of the 05's

Like said above, you must push the arrow to get it out of plastic housing. If you have a 2010 sender, it should work just like it did when that hat was in my car.
