Can anyone tell me if they have used forscan and what modules you were able to view for a 2007 or similar year mustang? I can only view 3 or 4 modules as built data and not the easy configuration ones.

Yes the adapter I bought is a OBD2 to USB with the HS/MS switch and was marketed as working with Forscan.

I haven't connected in a while, but IIRC I had to try different OBD2 adapters on my '07 to see all the modules, weird.
When connected to the '06 GT it too was limited, need to tackle it again.

What I am trying to figure out is if the "easy mode" settings are available or not on 07 GTs or only the as built data? I am trying to change my speedometer because its 5mph off at pretty much any speed, as well as keep the fog lights on with high beams. Only thing I have been able to do so far is disable the annoying TPMS sensor warning message and chimes. I guess I will have to buy the vlinker cable for $35 and try that one. I already threw away the box the first cable came in or I could just return it to amazon.

I don't know if it matters but the modules in my 2007 all have build dates/software from early 2006.

As I understand it some cables don't have all the necessary code languages to talk to all the modules. All the elm327 cables sold online are clones/copies of the original and vary in quality. I just don't know if the mode and modules I am trying to access even exist on the 06/07. It is VERY surprising to me the lack of info on this that it may be because what I want to do is not possible.

Both cars are apart right now, so I can't test them. When they are back together, I will connect Forscan with a variety of cable to see what works. Oh, also it seems to me that using a different PC or version may have made a difference

For Forscan, OBDLink Ex USB is the best way to go but you are not going to do much with the 07 Mustang. I have a supercharged 06 and found little I could do with it. On the 2015 MKC I was able to do lots with the newer system - enable Navigation and many other things. There aren't any spreadsheets for our years of Mustangs so to even find which line deals with gear ratio may be impossible never mind the actual tire dimension which you would want to zero in on actual speed. I spent a lot of time on Forscan with many posts - and even on speedometer issues, but there wasn't much of anything for the S197s 2005 and up. When I sold the MKC and and Russia attacked Ukraine, I decided not to post there any more. I still have the liftime Forscan and update it in the event I may use it in the future, but as I said there is little that can be done on our Mustangs. I posted on Forscan under "lenko."

That's what I was afraid of after initially getting excited that it would work. The hex code line for the TPMS sensors was the same address as it is for the 2011+ mustangs but the code is slightly different. I changed the first four digits to what I found on the forums and that worked. However I haven't been able to find any information on how to decipher the "as built" codes. I picked up an unmarried SCT tuner for $140 locally and was able to correct my speedo with that as well as adjust a few other items. My new issue is the throttle is way too sensitive now from the canned tune that now to fix that I need a custom tune I guess. Just going to live with it because I am not interested in dumping more money into the car at this time.
