So for the longest time I have had a clunk when I would drive the stang around. Enough so that I have been under the car several times looking for the problem.
Numerous searches on many sites always turned up threads where people were bitching about the exact same thing as me so I figured i was just being oversensitive to the whole thing and moved on...
Fast forward to today. I was under the car taking off my k-member brace trying to diagnose a problem with my shifter. Lo and behold:
What you are looking at is a sheared off rod end from the engine torque limiter on the k-member brace. The car has clunked for as long as I can remember but I have never had problems shifting at the track.
Now that the brace is removed the clunk is gone.
