Hello guys,

So my 06 V6 4.0 ltr Stang was equipped with front orange KONI struts and lowering springs (blue from AM) this had a very low profile, I think it was around 2 - 3 cms from tire to wheel arch. Unfortunately the bump stops on these KONIs deteriorated and started crumbling with the consequence that these crumbles started to find their way in between the strut piston and seal, resulting in squeaking all the way while driving, even when exiting the car after stopping. I decided to replace them because even after trying to clean them the squeaking returned.

My main issue now is this, I tried to go for better struts, so I got the Bilsteins B6, replaced the top mounts with Pedders and used the same blue springs I had. Once ready I noticed that the height of the car went up by about 2 cms, I thought this is abnormal since as far as I know the car height is mostly determined by the springs, but some thing doesn't seem correct here. The pedders top mounts should be the same as I had, since they should replace stock, the springs I used the same ones, I only changed the struts from KONI orange to Bilstein B6, do these have different dimensions??

Did anyone use the Bilsteins and noticed any height difference from before?

The Bilstein B6's are gas charged but that shouldn't make much of a difference. I used Bilsteins with the stock GT500 strut mounts which worked fine. Since I replaced my springs (w/Roush) at the same time couldn't tell you the difference (if any) in stock height vs with the B6's. I wouldn't worry about it unless it really bothers you.
