hey guys i have a 2013 GT with 2K miles on it. I installed ford racing K springs all around and a factory GT strut bar at about 900 miles. Ever since then the front suspension has had a creaking sound whenever I go over lets say a speed bump or braking hard. I took the wheels off and I made sure everything was torqued right and of course everything was. I did notice that the bottom two coils on the springs are touching when the car is sitting on the ground. Is that normal? I had k springs on my 06 and never had an issue (maybe thats because the strut mounts clunked so loud lol) The car didn't make a single noise before I installed the springs, so is there anything i should check that I might have missed? like i said you can only hear it when you are going really slow over speed bumps or stuff like that, you cant hear anything just driving down the road. thanks!

are there plastic sleeves on the bottom of the springs? if they're not all the way at the bottom, that can cause it as well.

Yeah I forgot to put the springs plastic sleeve back on the front springs and it was making a horrible rattling sound.

well i ended up taking my pype bombs off the car to sell for something else and now the sound is loud as hell. Yesterday my friend in the car was asking me what it was! the car sounds worse than my 1988 trans am that I had. Yes the plastic sleeves are on the bottom of the springs where they are touching. The sound is coming from the driver side only. can i take it to the dealer for warranty work with k springs on it? they are ford parts. im guessing that its either the control arms or the strut tops...

I just took my 13 mustang in with 5k miles on it with the same problems.. No suspension mods on mine, but apparently its a factory issue and they had to replace both front lower control arm assembly.

Not sure if its the same problem with yours but they said its a big thing they are fixing.

Yes, sounds like you have the Front Lower Control arm squeak, I have had three sets on mine for this issue, each set lasts about 5K miles. It is a known issue for some cars and I think it has to do with the hydrobushings Ford uses as the rear bushing on the Lower Control Arms. The converters are very close to these bushings and the heat cooks these bushings then they start to squeak, they will eventually clunk and the front end will feel loose.
Not sure when Ford will have a permanent fix but in the meantime I get new lower control arms and an alignment ever 5K.....

I just removed the k-member and A-arm assembly this weekend for a different project. I know noticed the forward bushing on the front lower control arm is very bound up. I could not loosen the bolt by hand and the arm is not free to move up and down without force. The front sway bar is also the way. This is a 2012 GT stock with 8k miles on it.

I would think that maybe after lowering it the bushings are distorted and stressed and giving you the squeak with bumps.

The rear bushing i had no problems with.

Is there any known aftermarket fix for this? Mine is doing it already to and I really don't have time to put it in the shop every 5k.

My 2013 GT has just over 3k miles on it and recently started these shenanigans
as well. Squeals/grunts like pig and when I'm real lucky it will even reward me with a nice metal on metal clunk sound.

I have been eyeballing these units from Steeda as an optional replacement but I have heard rumors about some newer cars with the fancy steering option inheriting a wheel shudder when adding a Urethane bushing up front.

Anyone have any insight on this supposed wheel shudder when using Urethane bushings instead of the Pus filled Hydro bushings?

For the strut mounts or FLCAs?

Which one is making the noise over bumps ? Speed bumps and when I pull it in my yard to wash it is when I notice the noise the most. I have plans to lower it and do a little suspension work anyways, so I was hoping I could just fix the problem with aftermarket parts.
