Well Thursday I get my gears installed on my '05. Cant wait to feel the difference it makes. I know most people say 4.11 but I had 3.89's in my '65 Falcon and it was too low a gear for Interstate travel. So I thought/ hope these will be a nice compromise.

I just put in some 4.10s Brian. Cruising on the interstate isn't too bad. Do you have stock 3.55s or 3.31s?

Got 3.73's in my Bullitt from the factory, but switching to 4.10's in 2010. 5th gear drops the RPM's down for the e-way. But hey, 3.73 are a good all around gear.

Had a 1990 454SS pickup brand new. 3-speed auto w/ 3.73 gears. 3500rpm's at 65 mph!...and no overdrive plus 10 mpg.

I had 4.10s installed on Sunday. 70mph @ 2,400 rpm is good for me. I don't need to go any faster on the freeway and the motor isn't working hard at that rpm either.

Assuming you go from 3.55 to 3.73, I will be interested in how much of a difference you feel.

Hey OP, I'll be interested in hearing what you think. I have 3.31's right now and I'm considering 3.73's or 4.10s(or something in between). You drive the car daily?

I went from 331's to 410's this weekend and love them! They really woke the car up!

Hey all, I have the stock 3.31's in an A/T and I was looking for a good all around gear, I know the 4.10s would plant you back in the seat, lol. I guess tomorrow I will know if I made the right choice or not. I live right by the I-81 interstate so I will soon know what the rpms will be at say 70 mph w/ the overdrive. I know the '65 falcon was tachin 4 grand at 70 and 32 grand at 60 mph. I just didn't want that again but then it was a 4 speed stick and this is the 5 speed Auto. Dont get me wrong I loved the 3.89's. Laura the one time I had the Falcon at the strip (Mason-Dixon) on a drizzly test and tune day I got to make 3 passes w/ it. My 1st time on ever sitting at the Christmas tree.. I un-corked the Hookers, but was running w/ BF Goodrich TA radials, can you say learning curve? Long story short my 3rd run was 13.99 @ 100.5 mph. I would of loved to see what it would of run w/ slicks as coming out of the hole hard was a problem. It would just light em up. This spring I plan on going to Mason-Dixon and see what the stang will do... Here is my sorry ass w/ the Falcon

The Falcon is beautiful!

Brian, keep April in mind for Mason Dixon. That is when they usually start the private track rentals.

What part of PA are you from? I'm near Morgantown WV, we all just went to Mason Dixon a few weeks ago. Much nicer than PRP.

Well I just got back from the shop w/ the new gears.

First Impressions: I can definatly tell a difference from the 3.31's, now its not like a OMG difference but it is there none the less. I'm not like, CRAP I should of gotten the 4.11's either. I set my cruise @ 70mph this morning and it tach's 2000 and w/ the 3.73's it tach's 2500. At 60mph it tach's 2000 now. I did go from a slow roll, 5mph, and WOT and I like the response, goes thru the gears/shifts a lot quicker, but not so much were you feel like you lost 1st (as being too low). I would of like to have played w/ it some more but w/ traffic and the rural roads covered in cinders, I just brought her home and tucked it away for the time being.

Sounds good to me. I'm still split between 3.73 or higher, only cause I have to DD my Mustang and I can imagine @ 60 would probably be 2600 with the 4.10's

I dont know if it would be that high, I cant say though mine being an A/T, 60 was 2000 on the nose, maybe some one will chime in to help ya out.

Yea, mine is A/T as well and there is a calculator to figure it out but not trying to bother with it right now.

Ok, cool. A little more info $$$... My complete bill was $557 to include gears, friction add., gear oil, pinion bearing, shop supplies, labor and sales tax.

Interesting to hear. Is there any FRPP gears in the middle of 3.73 and 4.10's? Like a 3.90's or something?

Glad you you like it and thanks for sharing.

Edit: just looked. Looks like motive makes some 3.90's.
