Tuner is like new. It still has 4 Unlocks left and is Unmarried. It Stores up to 3 custom tunes, right now it has two tunes on it from Blow By Racing, One Performance (K&N Intake) V6 Tune (93 octane) and one Fuel Efficient tune (93 octane). They both can be erased easily and obviously can work for a GT. Tuner comes with original packaging with all CD's and information that comes with it brand new.

I am selling it for 220 OBO plus shipping.

The Tuner is located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I am willing to ship inside the United States

I have a rookie noob question (as Im new to tuners at the moment and thinking about buying one), what does the 'unlocks: 5' mean? I understand what the 'married' means. I never got the unlocked meaning...

SCT only allows a unit to be unlocked 5 times. Say I tune a car, but then it gets stolen and I have a locked tuner. I can send it to SCT to have them unlock it for a $150 fee but they will only do that up to 5 times per tuner.

If the tunes are linked to a specific VIN then what good are they to another car? Am I missing something here?

A custom tune is uploaded to a car and then it is VIN locked to that car. But all you have to do is return the tune in the car back to stock ( the SCT auto saves the stock tune when you upload a custom one ) and then the tuner is free again for another car. Has nothing to do with a vin number, tunes are built based on the ECU code and mods done to car.

That being said, you almost always want to get your own custom tune for your car, but the SCT X3 is simply the method of HOW a tune is uploaded to a car.

I swear I read that if it's locked it's considered "VIN locked".

The point I was getting at is that the included tunes are only of value to another car with the same ECU code, mods and tire size - if means ECU code locked - or worthless if it means VIN locked.

Locked to that specific car. I returned my car to stock tune so now the tuner is completely open to any one who buys the tuner. It has a few basic tunes on it as well as the two custom tunes I got. Alls you need to do is go to a tuner and usually for 25 bucks or so they will write you a custom tune that can be loaded to your tuner and into your car. I would recommend Blow By Racing for south Florida however it is all your personal preference. It can even be emailed to you by your tuner.

Why do people keep asking these stupid ass questions? Try searching. Seems like this happens in every thread where someone is selling a tuner.

Let's keep the postings to inquiries on the op's tuner or I will have to clean this thread up. Yes his asking price may be higher than others have for used tuners but that is his asking price. Pm him and negotiate from there.... thanks for your anticipated cooperation....Dale.
