Change the gas cap, I had a truck that would start idling rough after a longer drive, and taking the gas cap off evened out the idle. It may not be letting enough air in/out. After I realized this at a gas station I went in and said I left my gas cap there from filling up before. They had 2 boxes full of caps, tried one and worked great since. Worth a shot, sometimes its the simplest things.

^^No it just had the problem of hesitating after a long cruise. I am pretty sure it has to do with the evap system, i dont think it is the plugs, or needing a tune because of it dumping fuel on the catless h pipe. It will be running, I can take off the gas cap and it will puff black smoke and die..it is hard to crank back, but after it does it runs fine. I was just trieng to find out if someone else has had this problem, but i guess not..lol

05, hardly no mods to speak of,47,000 miles. I first noticed it was wanting to hesitate to crank after a drive when it was hot, like it did'nt want to pick up the fuel, and when it does finally crank, I do smell gas really bad. and while cruising the other day, it just started to idle rough and wanted to quit, anyone ever experience this? I had the fuel pump fixed under warrenty, and just had the fuel filter changed,I have not ran any codes yet, because my engine light always stays on , because of no cats, so any help would be great.Thanks.

check the spark plugs? And also if the car is tuned without cats it shouldnt have a check engine light. I had fumes coming in side of my car, due to a gas leak just got it fixed today and no more smell.

^^No tune just, catless H pipe. Glad you found the fix!

Are you still on the original plugs?

If you don't have a tune..and you have a catless H pipe the PCM thinks you have cats and is trying to cool them by dumping gas... you need a tune! Probably new plugs too after 47,000 miles as well.

^^Yea still on stock plugs and tune, I got to get some money..lol^^ Sweet ride btw..

Did you ever try the non-foulers? The plugs are probably toast by now.

Are you trolling a big squid/flasher combo?

^^Sorry i dont get it..

Are you trolling the site? Your problem has been diagnosed a few times over and you still ask what's wrong.

If not maybe you should try a tune and new plugs as previously suggested or at least pull the plugs and look at them. Also don't take the gas cap off while it's running, even the owners manual is clear on that.

^^well the main reason i was asking if anyone else had a similiar problem like mine, was the cost of the fix, I just lost my job and for now this is my daily driver and i dont have the money to fix it, so trolling the site?? That is so lame for you to even ask...ha ha is all i can say at you..

I have an almost new set of HT1's. I used them for about 4,000 miles. PM your address and I'll send them out. I have no use for them since adding a Paxton two weeks ago.

Then why did you post this earlier today?...

Does putting the mondo bypass make the Paxton sound like the Procharger? Just wondering because I love the sound of the procharger, but most Paxton kits sound quiet. That may be a stupid question, but i want people to know i just spent 6 grand..lol

 very nice of you Bruce

05RR - really in 4 months since this started you could not save up the $100 or so to get a new set of plugs to swap them?

take up Bruce's generous offer for the plugs, send him $10 for the shipping and swap them FFS

^^This,'' caution'' dumbass's above. *FINALLY FIXED* WeLL it was not the plugs, pulled them and actually looked great for 52,00 miles, none broke and replaced them with brisks one piece design, it is not tune related, and this was the third ford tech, i took it to, before someone finally found the problem, because of no codes , except for the code for not having cats. the Canister purge solenoid was going bad and almost completly shot, the fuel pressure was spot on , but would not hold the right pressure in the tank and would cause it to flood all the time. I hate to get personal on a mustang site , but the folks that questioned my integrity about my job, when i have a wife and two children, can for shure kiss my ass, and the fucktard shit, i hate to tell you go look in the mirror, you idiots, I just needed some help at a rough time, when a tech could not even figure it out, sorry i asked a mustang question on a mustang site.
