Well I know its been pretty quiet in here lately, but thought I would post up why. Especially since I am pretty pumped about it. For the last 5 yrs my DD was a '78 Ford 3/4 ton that was in pretty tough shape. I have FINALLY got a different DD. Was needing one since I wanna be able to trailer the car to the track maybe a couple times this year, and also needed something bigger to pull our travel trailer for family trips. Well anyway here is a pic. It showed up really dirty since they delivered it on a day that it happened to snow.
Progress will resume on the car very soon. I have all the parts, just need the time and focus to put it back together.
I believe I am past or right at the top of the turbos efficiency range. It did keep making right at 20hp/lb of boost up to 19lbs though. The turbo fits my needs and I belive i am done modding on the car for a little while. It is plenty fast and a handful just the way it is now.
the IATs were also still very good all the way up to 18-19lbs so it isnt starting to create a bunch of heat either. I think the turbo that I have is paired nicely with my "budjet" home built engine.
Yea I'm just trying to figure out what turbo I need for my build. I think if I stop where you are then I'd be fine, but if I EVER wanted to go higher Id have to get another turbo and I don't think I want to go that route. I'm almost thinking about just spending the money now and calling it a day?
