I would fight the twistie DS BS...

I don't understand PP bolts backing out/clutch grenading causing a DS to twist like that. There seems more is going on with the drive train IMO. I could maybe understand if it were seriously beat on, but 900 miles and it's crushed? That's straight up bull shit. Is it the dealer making the call here or is Ford saying warranty is denied? Has Ford sent an engineer to look or are they just taking the word of the dealer? I'd fight it and make sure a Ford rep looks at it first hand. I don't see how they can prove "abuse" without other evidence besides the DS.

Damn, I hate to read shit like this. I hope you get better news and it's in your favor.

Scott I would just keep calling the hotline and make sure a rep comes out

The case has already been opened with customer care through the Ford Hotline, I'm gonna fight the case as much as I can, trust me I don't want to eat $2,000 in parts on a brand new car.
Im currently waiting on the regional reps response, and I will have the car further inspected with Ford to fight the abuse claim.
Regardless, I'm picking the car up from Hirsch Ford in Michigan City, they are not willing to help, they have been less helpful regarding the warranty claim, and they have made it clear that they are not interested in helping. I don't recommend doing business with them nor buying squat from them.
If ford does honor the warranty ill have another dealership do the repairs.

Didn't Tom have his drive shaft snap on him? It sucks to hear that they won't replace it under warranty. Hope they get it fixed for you, and you are up and running soon.

Not sure, which Tom are you refering to?

That sucks. Did they put a tin foil DS in that thing or do you just have that much POWA?

Not at all... Stock power, car has yet to modified

Tell them to go fuck themselves... If 380+/- rwhp and 350 rwtq +/- can twist a driveshaft that is a pretty pathetic and weak driveshaft.

I'm sure it will work out when you get ahold of the customer care rep.

Tom's case is a little different. Apparently something got jammed under the car and caused it to twist up. I don't think that's what happened with mine.

From the looks of it though it's fairly similar to what ford is saying is wrong with the car.... So idk.

I'm hoping so, I should bring hearing from one today or tomorrow. I also requested that the regional service manager contact me as well so hopefully I'll get this straightend out

When you talk to someone from Ford and not the dealer I would explain that the dealer is refusing to find the root cause and just simply found a broken part and blaming you. I'm sure you know, driveshafts don't just twist up on their own. I would hate to read that you found something trashed in the transmission that should be warrantied if you end up fixing it yourself. I've seen some guys cut crazy good short times with the stock driveshaft, I watched Seer pull a 1.45 and 1.49 without breaking anything.

No they don't, It takes alot to twist them and I have asked multiple times if they have even checked the trans and clutch and they are refusing to inspect anything else without replacing the driveshaft.
They want me to pay $851 plus labor to replace the driveshaft so they can try to drive it and see what's further wrong with it...I'm not spotting the dealership a driveshaft so they can further diagnose the problem thats asinine.

I think this is one of those rare times where, if it were my vehicle, it would be parked in a lot across from the dealership with a sign on it informing people that "XXXX Dealership does not take care of their customers."

Not necessarily recommending that, but lets just say it provides results quite quickly. ;)

Trust me with the way they handle this I won't refer anyone to them, my family owns a mechanical equipment, service, and contracting company. We know nearly all the local competitor companies and one thing well all use and break is ford econoline vans, hell we 46 in our fleet alone let alone all the other companies in this area. I'll be sure that they receive no business from any us.

None of them appreciate bad business ethics nor want to deal with someone who isn't willing to aid or stand by their warranties and products....

And is my mind what goes around comes around, karma is a bitch. So they will get their own.

Honesty this really is a bunch of bullshit because their saying he cause the driveshaft to twist... Do you think that a mt-82 could even hold enough power to twist a driveshaft without breaking? No, I don't think so.. Idk how they could justify saying its his fault for the driveshaft breaking. Something else had to mechanically fail first. Then the force of whatever broke caused this to happen.

Exactly, like stated before they are trying to point a finger without actually finding the real issue. They just put the car on a lift and saw the driveshaft, immediately called me and basically said its not covered and you need a new driveshaft...instead of stopping a thinking what may have caused this issue they assumed that I was abusing it. Once I told them that wasNt the case, I said I believe there is something further with the transmission that I think failed and may have caused the issue and asked if they had even looked at that...manager said no they are sure it's just the driveshaft and that I was hot rodding the vehicle because that doesn't happen from the transmission failure and they want me to purchase a new driveshaft so they could drive the car and further diagnose it.
That right there is a red flag to me, they aren't will to take the time to find what may of caused the failure the just want to start throwing parts at it and hope that may fix it.
In my eyes they are looking to help just trying to make some quick cash of me and the hell with the warranty. I give the money for the driveshaft, they find out its not the problem and it is something with the transmission, they will lie and cover their tracks and claim abuse again and then I'm now stuck with a larger repair bill.
There is no risk in putting a driveshaft in the car under warranty to them, of that is the issue and the car amazingly is just fixed then they charge for the driveshaft, I pay them they get their money and i get my car back. Where is the risk!?!

They are making themselves look like idiots.

good luck on this endeavor. that is hard to see, a new car with such a problem. even if it was driven hard this is inexcusable in an unmodified car.
