The car is babied, Never ran hard. Hell it's been sitting in my shop for the past 3 months since I bought it with the occasional trip to the bank and over to Brent's. And your right driveshafts just don't twist like that. There had to be a mechanical failure that resulted in the driveshaft taking a brute torque to twist it up.

I'm hopIng to have some pics here in the next couple days so I can see what they are seeing.

Update:

New driveshaft has arrived, should be installed on Monday so we can further diagnose the car to see if there are any further problems in the driveline

Damn man sorry to hear, hopefully the new dealer will make it right. Did you try the dealer you bought the car from?

Wow that's unbelievable. What happened to customer service after the sale?? These shitty businesses just need to go out of business already.

Haven't heard anything back from the dealership regarding the car. The new driveshaft is there and they are installing it and re-testing to see if there are any further issues. I should be recieving a phone call sometime today.

I love my fords, and will till the day I die.

But im never buying another ford car from a dealership or anything new.

If and when I get back in another S197 im planning on just getting the good ole 3v which I love more than anything. If something breaks I can blame it on myself.

None of this BS with the new cheap transmissions breaking, engines blowing and other issues. Completely retarded if you ask me.

Just got off the phone with them. Car has not been touched yet. There service department is very busy and they have not had a chance to install the new driveshaft to further diagnose it.... Car broke (3/11/2012)... So 10 days and still don't know what's wrong with it.... This constant 80* weather and sun here in Chicago isn't helping my frustration either lol

I wouldn't steer anyone away from these 5.0s, they are awesome cars when they are running. I loved mine until this happened. There has been a good amount of issues with these cars they are also still fairly new. Mine is a 2011 as well so I may have got a factory lemon. Regardless, I don't like spending nearly $40K on a car that is sitting broke and I can't drive....

This whole process has put a sour taste in my mouth in regards to Ford and ever purchasing another new vehicle from them.

Update:

New driveshaft was installed and the car was re-tested. Drivetrain is still locked up and the transmission is now going to be taken down for inspection along with clutch and flywheel.
