Tuning is going very well. I have been doing some data logs for Lito and he has the car running very well IMO at this point for what I have done to it. We have made a couple pulls from 2200 to 4800 and have made nice adjustments so far. This week some time I will start the 6500 rpm runs and go from there on the tune. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with Lito and his skills. I just wish I had more time to get the pulls done. I have only been able to give him a pull a week or so due to my schedule. Hats off to him !
Some things to note.
1. The Lentec Strip Terminator may not be for everyone in a street car. With the line pressure set high all the time the drive train clunks on shifts when driving normal. Under WOT all is good. Doesn't bother me since the car is far from a DD, but matter for others interested in this trans.
2. Also the UPR tensioner is flawed. It is not holding the belt tight enough to put the needed pressure on the belt .I have seen at least 1 other member post it here. The set screw so the unit doesnt retract fully, or stopper, is not drilled at the correct point for the stock belt length. I have not contacted them about it since it has been in my garage for some time and if the was a mass issue, I think we would have heard of it by now. Either way I removed the set screw for now and all is well. The issue was that the belt , without enough tension, will squeal very loudly on start up.
3. Next is the ABS removal. I have a check brake system message that will not go away. It cannot be tuned out or shut off. I am still working on a fix. Jump in here if you have a suggestion.
4. I know there is more, but that is what comes to mind right now.
Other then that all I need is more time to data log.
I am seeing about 12 psi thus far at 4700 rpm and start making boost at a blip of the throttle. This is with the 4.3 pulley.
I feel very comfortable tuning on the road (driveway) vrs the dyno now. I have been driving it on the road some , just crusing though. I will have to admit , I was very nervous about this, since I have done very little data logging and such and knew nothing about remote tunes. I would almost recommend this type of tuning vrs the dyno tuning if you have the time and a good tuner to do it slowly and correctly. If not then a dyno tine with several follow up data logs. I have always just tuned on the dyno and trusted all was well. Maybe that was my fault, but if you don't know, then you just don't know.
I am starting to remember why I started all of this in the first place!
EDIT: And before anyone says it, YES, IT IS FUCKING DONE. Just tuning. LOL
