I still have the oil leak, but the "dipper" is holding fine for now till I do the bigger cams.

I have the wastegate and Trueboost installed and am working out some bugs so I can do 1 final 2nd gear pull for Lito and then start some 3rd gear pulls then the driabilaty.

Cant say enough about Lito at this point. Guy really knows what he is doing. I just wish I could get more datalogs done for him. I do plan to make that 2nd gear pull today and if the WG works ok I will do the 1st full 3rd gear pull.

I certainly have no doubts about Lito's ability to give you a great tune, but the one problem I see with this type of tuning is that when you get caught making a full pull in third gear you aren't going to be getting a ticket, your going to jail. I know after installing my new engine i was doing the same things you are doing but decided to call off the WOT pulls on the street for the concerns mentioned above. I would think you would be better off finding a dyno to do the WOT pulls and then finish up the drive ability on the street. In any case good luck with the tuning and I am looking forward to the track results.

I do have a "safe" place to do these pulls. I use a back road close to here that is about 1 mi. long and only has two houses that are a good ways from the road. It is a nice strait road with a lot of visibility. If I was to see a car in the view the run would be aborted for sure. I will do it till it doesn't feel safe. These 3rd gear pulls will have my son standing by at the other end on speaker phone to tell me if anyone is coming.

Just one of the advantages to living in the country I guess. If needed I could have both of my sons at each end and be plenty safe. I have thought about the issues that can happen on this type of tuning at this power level. If I felt it was unsafe , I wouldn't be doing it period. Fact is if someone even called in on me it would be 15-20 min for a sheriff's car to arrive.

Now to today. I tried the 3rd gear pulls and I guess the car is down shifting into 2nd when I nail it and shifts into 3rd at about 85 mph. This is tuning that I do here on my laptop with the Baumannator Tcs software. I think after talking to Lito this evening I may have solved my issues. I need to make some pulls for testing though. Everything looks nice and safe so far in the tune, so I feel like I can do some trans. tests this week and then next weekend get into the tune again for Lito.

Yea I wasn't really thinking or trying to say you would do something unsafe. After I posted I was thinking about where you are at in comparison to me and it sounds like you have it covered. Unfortunately for me there is just to many people (traffic) and police to do WOT pulls on the street.

Well fellas, Lito is great! The car is running pretty good. Almost done with the street tuning. I would have been done tuning weeks ago if I had more time to dattalog for him. Should be about wrapped up with the 93 oct tune this weekend if I can get a couple of pulls done this week. I have installed a WG and have a 16 psi spring that spikes to 17 psi for a split sec. and then back to 16 psi. I have put about 400 mi. on the car just running around feeling things out, going to lunch, ect. I should be able to start the race fuel on full boost (24 psi) in a week or tw0. This is all being done with the 4.3 pulley. After the race gas tune I will do some testing with the 3.9 to see wich one I like better.

Here is a shot of the car from this weekend out in the sun. I still need to color sand the car and put the emblems on it. In the pic below you can see two variations I was looking at. I decided to go with the lower one. For the rear of the car I have a new GT faux gas cap with a supercharged plate to go below it.

Also while the car was down I lost my custom plate to someone else since I let the reg. exp. Will have to come up with something new now. Any ideas? LOL

Any how here is how she sets now.

Nice looking car Billy! When does it go on the dyno and down the track?

I would think I will be ready to go on the dyno after some race fuel pulls on the street. So, maybe two or three weeks. Then to the track for some base runs. I think with as loose as my converter is, the car will shine more on the track then the dyno. I will make some pulls though to get a base of where the car is at with the current setup. Then do the 127550 cams, crankcase evac., and Msd DIS 4 testing on the dyno to see what I pick up with each. Then to the track again. I wouldn't expect to see the full potential of full boost, race fuel and the N2O till this fall. I really will be in for one hell of a learning curve this year at the track, so expect some embarrassing videos before the true potential is reached. Not to worry though, if I can post Hawgmans videos of my mosquito fogger video then I wont mind some embarrassing track testing videos. LOL

Amazing Car you have!!!!

freakin awesome!

Thanks! Its been a long time coming. Lots of blood, sweat, and yes, tears! LOL

Not to mention the hundreds of hours staring at the damn thing to figure out the next move. I can really understand why some people charge so much for one off parts now.

Looking forward to the track soon!!!

Thanks, I love to drive this car!!!

Awesome!! I cant wait to see a vid, and hear the beast.

So far the only video I have is the first pull in 2nd from 2200 to 4800 in 2nd. It is in post #871. There will be more to follow.

I will be color sanding and buffing the car Sat. and Sun. and putting a show quality finish on the amazing paint my buddy at Keith Hodges Collision here in Tyler TX. put on the car. I will post some pics as I go from taking it from shiny and pretty to amazing. It is a scary process. For those that dont know, you basically take the car from a shiny clear coat finish with some orange peal and some minor imperfections and make it dull and ugly by wet sanding it and then polish to a show finish!

Is there an online Guinness World Records office? The category: "Longest tuning process ever" has been already created?, you know, just thinking out loud!, lol. Just kidding with you Billy, beautiful car by the way.

Man, if anyone ever tells you that they want $1000 to color sand and buff your car, Pay them !!! I sent 20+ hours sanding and buffing my car this weekend. I still need to spend another 5-8 hours buffing and polishing but you get the idea.

Here you can see the slight orange peel that is in most paint.
