Hey guys,

I have a 2012 Mustang GT with a 6R80 transmission. After making noises and jerking under full load for about a year, the transmission has finally given up. Error code P07AA, limp mode, and it's hardly shifting (very late shifts with the engine revving high).

Being from Germany, getting it repaired isn't straightforward and is estimated to cost around $5000 USD. Now, I'm wondering about the differences between 6R80 transmissions. I can get a used 6R80 from a 3.7L Mustang for about $1800 USD. Alternatively, is there a good place in the USA to buy a Stage 1 6R80? Import costs are around $500 USD, and I'm contemplating if it makes sense to upgrade to something better right away.

Thanks for your help!

The 3.7 transmission is different and will not work. If you have any mechanical ability you can repair it yourself.
