My cars at the body shop getting a GT/CS buumper installed on the rear of the car to replace my damaged stock one and I got a call telling me to come take a look at it. Turns out the bumper is hitting on my flowmasters. Anyone ever experienced a similar problem? I dont want to trim a brand new bumper so I figured I would just buy new mufflers but im curious as to what will fit? The flowmaster hushpowers look like they sit back farther but I want to be sure before I buy a set.

Have them loosen the over axle pipe and the the clamp on the muffler and adjust as necessary. If the muffler is sitting too far back from the bumper, they can slide the over axle pipe forward

You think there is a couple inches of movement in doing that? Its not like this is just barely touching, its not even close to fitting.

Unfortunately I didnt think to get a bunch of pictures but I did get this one and if you look closely at the bottom edge you can see how far its pushed down.

Yeah, that can be tweaked to fit for sure. No need to cut up the new bumper.

I had the same issue with my Bassani mufflers, loosened everything up and pushed the exhuast as far forward as it could go, and still didn't have enough clearance to keep the bumper cover from touching. I ended up removing the Bassani's and replacing it with the Borla Stingers. I just assumed in my case it was the combo of long tube headers, off road x, and bassani axle back causing the issue, and for what it's worth my stock mufflers cleared with no problem.

If there isn't enough slack in the pipes then maybe trim the H (or X) pipe where it slips into the over axle pipes. Take off an inch and move everything forward an inch.

i had my local meineke restraighten out my borlas, they were melting my gt500 rear bumper, they ended up cutting a little bit off the cat side of my 3 inch over axles, and bent one of em a lil bit, to straighten it
