You guys are gonna think I'm insane, but I want to swap my HIDs out for Halogens!
I'm in Japan and all Mustangs here come standard with HID, so I had no choice.

This is a great writeup, but I wonder... Can the process be reversed?

Just find the pin outs from the HID connector; all you need is ground, 12v low to igniter and 12v high beam solenoid

Thanks for your response!
I'm sorry to say that I don't know exactly what it means though...
I'm pretty new to messing with the wiring in my car.
The solenoid and igniter are parts of the cars ignition system?

Do you think that I'll need any extra hardware? Perhaps a new harness?

Anybody know how far up and down halogens can be adjusted?
I have to have them be legal for driving on the left side of the road.

Actually, not sure if Japan has different plugs and connectors as USDM spec.

Solenoid allows high-beam use on projector cars.
Igniter 'powers' the ballast allowing the HID bulb to illuminate

Check this thread out... http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69564

Thanks for all of the help!

I still need to clarify a few things about downgrading my HIDs to Halogens because I'm pretty new to this...

I'll probably need new 3 wire plugs, but is there anything else I might need?

Is it just a matter of taking the solenoid wire from the HID harness and attaching it to the high beam wire on the halogen pigtail, igniter wire to the low on the halogens and then ground to ground?

Am I understanding everything correctly?

What happens to the 4th wire on the hid harness? Just tape it down?

I'd really appreciate any help or advise!
Thank you.
