Been searching around and curious. Can not find much detail beyond a comments saying: it should fit.

Would S197 take-off GT500 shocks/struts fit on an 2005 to 2006 GT?

If so, how would the ride change? I presumed it would stiffen up a little.

Thank you to anyone who has experience with this situation.

From my understanding\knowledge, any that comes off\are for a 07-09 S197 GT500 for sure (fully identical design dimensions to all 05-10 S197 V6\GT for front struts & rear shocks) will fit, maybe a '10 S197 GT500 as well but don't hold me to this 1.

I also believe any front struts off a 11-14 S197 GT500 will work IF you also bring the strut's upper mounts w\ them if the strut's shaft size OD is different (larger shaft OD) than the 07-09 S197 GT500 MY's (this may be only necessary if you're swapping these parts off a 11-14 S197 GT due to these using a different strut shaft size vs the 07-09 S197 GT500, thus not sure about this 1 either). All 11-14 S197 GT500 rear shocks are identical design to all 05-10 S197 V6\GT.

While you're at you may as well get any MY S197 GT500's front strut\rear axle bump stops to replace the same on all 05-10 S197 V6\GT (better designed using much better materials).........

These struts\shocks are designed using a stiffer overall spring damping control rate to work in tandem with the same MY GT500 springs which also are designed w\ a stiffer lbs\1" compression rate thus will most likely provide a stiffer spring damping control pattern vs your stock GT front\rear springs..........

My 2 cents...............

Hope this helps.

IMG_2802.jpeg I have GT500 track pack rear Bilsteins on my 05’ GT. They are adjustable from the factory but mine are not connected to a controller so defaults to full stiff. I LOVE them!

If your looking for struts and shocks checkout my parts for sale I have some excellent tokicos listed.

I used an ‘07-‘09 GT500 takeoff setup on my ‘07 GT that came from a KR conversion. You used to be able to buy these setups for cheap & the struts are a little better than the GT components. I didn’t use the GT500 springs as I had lowering springs for a GT already but the GT500 front bar is a direct bolt in. It’s the same outer diameter but uses a thicker wall tube than the GT bar. You’ll want to use adjustable camber plates if lowering the car. I have adjustable Koni yellow’s on the car now but be aware, running used struts with lowering springs can kill the used struts.

Rear springs are the same, front springs will ride stiffer because they have a different spring rate for all the extra weight that a GT500 has up front.
