APRIL FOOLS!!!!!
2mdjllx.jpg

Despite having an 08 I got stuck with the old style plugs.
Seems I couldn't get any luck with this. Broke all 8 of them suckers. Followed the TSB on every one of them, seemed to do no good. Used PB blaster on them and I let them soak over night..didn't seem to help AT ALL.
Guess my car had too many miles on it. Luckily I was able to go pick up the Lisle spark plug tool from Oreilly's, it was by far more expensive than i could have found it on the internet but I didn't want to wait.

Already had NGK plugs sitting here at the house ready to go in, guess I should have researched a bit more, gonna send them back to rockauto and order some HT0s probably.

Does anyone make a one piece 1 step colder plug for the older style heads? I saw that Champion and Brisk both make 1 piece plugs? but do they offer them in the 1 step colder versions?

same here man......

only one of them ended up not breaking the tip, going to get some 1/4" hose tomorrow and i'm gonna rig it up to the vacuum cleaner and try to suck everything out of the cylinder..I tried to suck as much as I could with the hose I had today but the hose was too big to fit down through the spark plug hole.

alright thanks I will definitely be checking there and autozone tomorrow!
the end on a borescope is small enough to fit in the spark plug hole right?

I used FRPP plugs in my car while running nitrous. They're one piece and 1-step colder. I have the older style heads on my '08, too.

Damn, all 8? that sucks! I replaced the ones on my 07 when it had about 45k on it and they all came out without breaking. Just broke them loose a tad let some PB sit and slowly wrenched. They screamed the whole way out but none broke. I replaced them with HT1's then, but now have HT0's and have been in and out about 3 or 4 times with no problems. Make sure to use a little antisieze on the install as well.

yeah I'm gonna use a bit of antisieze on them and after this they will be changed at lease every 10K..

how many of you guys w/ F/I changed your plugs again after getting tuned and running about a tank of gas though? one of my buddies told me that after I get all tuned and everything it would be a good idea to run a tank of fuel through the car and then swap plugs again? but if this is not necessary I don't want to have to do this again right off..

two of mine came out sqeeking a bit.. and that bothered me.. but in general it all was pretty easy i just used a socket wrench and broke them loose making sure i was right on top of them then used a socket extension to take them out by hand and took it easy on them
