Yesterday I got side swiped/t-boned by a Mack truck in the Saleen. Whole right side needs fixed, there is a gaping hole in my quarter panel and the rear end is pushed back about 3 inches. What is a GOOD body shop in the Va Beach area to take it too that is going to do a good job. The car is a 1 of 8 and I dont want some shoddy work.
Thanks
Jeff

Sorry to hear that, glad you are OK. Looks like the car is not a total, so that is good.

I had Mi Car do some painting for my when I get rear ended. They did a great job matching the paint. Very friendly, very Mustang friendly, the owner's daughter had a Mustang. I gave her my old GT rear bumper, it was repairable.

Paint wasn't perfect, had a few small imperfections, but I didn't mention it to them since they were so small and so low on the bumper, no one besides me would ever see them. I'm sure they would have fixed it. Just do a close inspection before driving off.

That's painful to even read about.

Check out Car Struction on Woodlake Dr. in Chesapeake. Off the 64 Greenbriar exit- turn left at the BMW motorcycle dealer.
I didn't have bodywork done there, but I had them completely strip and paint the hood on my 10 GT when it was brand new.

It was black, and I gave another shop 3 chances to get it right and they did sloppy work, then called it "industry standard"! I told that guy they needed to raise the bar.

Car Struction was very professional and understood the Mustang was my baby. I told them it was a new car and I expected it to be perfect, so if they couldn't do that no problem, let me know up front. They and they took the time to get it right, and it came out great.
Whatever shop you go to, be sure to talk directly with the manager. Be straight with him about what you want and what you expect.

I had the opposite dealing at Car Strution but mine was more the customer service side; I had to continually call to get updates on my car, they would tell me it would be ready on XX day, no calls, I waited 1-2 days after the due date to get the status and it wasn't ready, always some excuse. When it was finally done I spoke to the manager about it as well as let USAA know about it as they had recommended them.

BOAT- Break out another thousand

A hole in the water into which you pour money...

Two happiest days of a boat owners life: the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it.

Boat just died 5 feet from the pier after idling there for 15 minutes loading up the neighbors, snacks, coolers, and everything, ready for a fun day on the water. Fuel pump is dead. $800 retail for the part. B_O_A_T.

Yep, hope to make that. Ya'll going up the day before and spending the night? If so, where?

I am; in the spring Ray and I went up the night before, got a hotel, spent the day at the track and then spend the night as well and came back Sat morning.

People can and have gotten up at 4:00, driven the 3 hours, raced and left at 4:00 PM and gotten home at 8:00 pm that night but that is a rough way to do it. It may not seem like that hard of work/big of a deal to spend the day at the track racing your car but it is.

I am going to check with Al as to what hotel he stays at, the one Ray and I stayed at was nice but about 30 mins away....I would prefer one closer this time.

Cool, let me know, the two night stay sounds like a good idea. No hurry that way.

IMO it is a lot less stressful that way and fortunately I am at the point in my life where I can afford things like that.

Might as well start saving up for that, because one day, I'll need it.

But going to also need
1. motor mounts
2. head changing kit
3. 8 bolt flywheel
4. long tubes (not going to bolt rusty stock manifolds on that)
5. MAF extender (at the limit of the 90mm now)
6. bump up the boost (8psi for the last 7 years, time to go up)
7. bigger fuel pumps (where's Jeremy?) still got the stocker with a BAP
8. new clutch (hate the Spec Stage 3+, and I got 7 years out of it)
9. aluminum driveshaft (got the Denny's steel, but want aluminum)
10. Something else I'm missing...?

Too much money and time to change. If I was going to entertain something new it would be straight to the 2013 GT500 with a swap to an auto transmission
