Heater/ac fan is starting to make funny noises

It doesn't do it every time I turn it on, but I'd say about 50% of the time it makes this weird, fast, clacking noise an then it smooths out like normal. What the hell is it and is it gonna be a pita to fix?

probably the bearings gone to hell and the fan is contacting the housing.

Mine has always done that in cold weather - bearings are fine, just a poor fit. Solution is to only drive the car in the summer.

If it's a clicking noise you probably got some sort of debris in there, when bearings go they typically squeal.

Worth pulling it to check.

Sounds like one of your HVAC blend door actuators is going out. This happened on our 2011, and is a fairly common problem. Depending on where in the dash the noise is coming from, you might be able to figure out which actuator is bad. Changing them out is pretty straight forward, but some of the bolts are a p.i.t.a to get to.

Yup probably the blend door mine has the same symptoms seems to happen allot with thsee cars

Did a search on Youtube for Mustang blend door and that seems to match what I'm experiencing. Thanks fellas.
