So.. I apologize, I'm sure this has been done before, but I just want to see if there's some kind of consensus on what to do next.

I just got my Mustang a few months ago. So far I've slapped on a Steeda CAI with a tune from Brenspeed and put on Mac Axlebacks to get a little more noise out of the V8. I've got an inquiry in with Brenspeed on install cost for some 4.10 gears and an O/R midpipe of some kind and maybe a custom dyno tune. I understand that the ever famous "butt dyno" says the 4.10's will be the best improvement after the CAI.

But what do I do after that as far as bolt-ons go? I've been lurking around these boards (among others) and (maybe I'm just blind) have found no real clear answer. If I had to give a goal, I'd say over 300 horsepower at the wheels, but not anymore than like 350. Does that mean cams? Or CMDP's and some other stuff?

The one kind of sticky issue is I paid for a 3 year bumper to bumper when I bought the car and would like to avoid as much in the way of issues with that as possible.

Anybody want to help out the noob? :whistling:

I would continue with the exhuast, add some headers; JBA, Kooks(if you want to spend that much) or American Racing are all good. O/R X pipe or H pipe, depends if you want a raspy exhuast tone or deep and throaty tone. Than CMDP's. Steeda UDP's(probably the best UDPs on the market for s197's). That will get you around 300rwhp. If you want over 320, you need cams.
As far as gears, depends on person.

Congrats on your grabber. I would go with some CMCDP and brenspeed will update your tune for free. ALso some longtubes if i had to do it over i would go with full Mac exhuast i had it on my 01 GT and loved it, Mac longtubes and prochamber to go with your axleback. That will easily put you in the 300+ rwhp range. If u want 340-350rwhp all u would need is some stage 2 comp cams/springs/phaser limiters.

4. Techno S/C or the turbo setup SD is running on his car / Fuel rails / 60# or 80# injectors
5. Long tube headers, x or H pipe and axle back
6. GT500 big breaks
7. Wheels of your choice
8. HID lights
9. Body kit of your choice if you really have to.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sorry to the mods for putting it in the wrong place

The Stroker is a bit past my means and current ability. I have a hell of a lot to learn before I even think about something like that.

Sounds like some longtubes, midpipe, and delete plates are in my near future.
