Well guys I need some help on this. When I was living in LA, a heavy rain semi flooded my car, then the heat caused a ton of humidity, which caused my door vinyl to come loose. I've tried sticking it back up, but now its just a lost cause. The other day it was so bad I just completely pulled the whole piece out with one tiny pull. I've looked everywhere online for a direct replacement, but I've only found custom jobs. Does anyone know a place that offers direct replacements? I'm sure the dealership could do it, but for an arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about the leather on the interior door panel around the handle, you can't replace it. Mine fell, sent it to an interior guy I used before, he said the handle is molded to the door panel over the leather and it was a loss cause. New panel is like $600 bucks at the dealer.

I took it to my body shop and they removed the foam backing and used spray adhesive, just to try. Hasn't fallen yet in about a year and I can't tell the difference. So far so good.

Hmm. Well both of mine are completely off. The handle is molded to the door panel, but it looks as though theres room to slide a new piece behind it. Guess I'll just have to mess with it

I don't know. Take it to an upholstery shop, you may have better luck. I personally didn't look at it, but it what he told me. If they can do it, it won't be a couple hundred bucks.

well today I ripped out the foam padding and your buddy is right. Not much room under the handles. I'll probably try to just do the adhesive if I can get all the pieces of old foam off.

3/4 of a can of contact cement is holding mine on. I just had the normal sagging issue though. Been 5 - 6 weeks of 100+ degree weather, parking outside. Still holding up just fine. If you have trouble getting the edges to fit right again due to warping, a good friend of mine used some interior piping to tuck in to clean it up after he had the same issue, and it came out well from what I hear.

Man I was just thinking that looking at the gap. I'm diving into the project tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

Mine started to fall off about a year ago, upholstery shop fixed it for about $45 per door. I had to take the door panel off so the shop could work on it though. so far they are holding up great, even in the Alabama heat.
