Anyone built their own buggy? Could be a Go-kart, sand rail, dune buggy, etc etc.

Im debating looking into building a motorcycle powered street legal sand rail some day, looks like it could be fun to build/drive around, get 150hp+ in a tube frame body and get ready :D

I can already hear my mom going "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?"

I've seen guys use honda civic motors too…fwd perfect for transplanting to the reared of a rail.

I saw a deuce coupe with a Harley motor in it, now that was cool man.

yea a fwd with engine, tranny/diff/axle all together would make it pretty simple, but also all that weight would be right above the axle and unless i stretched it out pretty far could be bad for high acceleration.

However transplanting a FWD axle to the back and achieving four wheel steering would be pretty fucking sweet.....

Every once in awhile I'm tempted to turn my 70 beetle into a baja buggy. A lot of rust in areas and might just be easier to eliminate those areas rather than fix it but I'm really wanting to do a hoodride with it.
