Not many people getting 1.7 60' out of 18" Nitoo 555Rs. How long is your burnout? Can't really see much about what your car is doing from that video.

I get 1.70 60' with the 305/45/18 Nittos @540 rwhp and 3.55 gears. I have a KB so it's a bit different. I now use those on the street and uses the MT ET Streets.

When I had the turbo, i used the 2 step and slowly turned it up until I got tire spin. I learned when using the 2 step that when I released the clutch is alomt in 2 phases. I would let 90% out then let the rest hang the first 10' or so.

I don't know what kind of burnout you do, but I found letting the tires smoke in 2nd gear for 3-4 seconds gets them just right.

I have experienced bogging and it sucks. I have fixed it by either launching harder, slipping clutch or raising tire pressure.

Your probably right, I only saw a few people do it. I think the part that got me was the cobra cut a 1.9 on street tires so I know its not track prep.

I do a second gear burnout until I see smoke.

Would mickey thompson drag radials in 18s work a lot better then the nittos? I would switch to bigs and skinnies if I knew I could run them on the street and get around 5k miles out of them. Thats about all I drive in the summer and I expect to buy new tires every year. Do you think a set of stiffer shocks on the rear would help at all? It feels like it hits the bump stop and starts to spin.

I would say the burnout longer(2-3 seconds), but your problem is not traction.

I use the the Biasply MT ET Streets. I get mid to low 1.5x 60' on a prepped track and 1.6x on unprepped.

cool, thanks for the info. It seems like on the 2 step its either bog or boil, I can't get a good launch at the track with it. On the street its fine.

When you go to the track, is it a street legal type thing where they clean the track and don't spray it?

I would choose one thing to adjust and then play with it. I think the easiest thing would be the 2 step. I've been there, it is frustrating.

You are suffering from the TYPICAL S197 supsension launch issues.

Stiffer shocks-adjustable...yes, with the ability to losen the front to enable it to rise and not fall during launch. Get ride of the front sway bar, add in an adjustable UCA. Good tire setup will help but don't see your problem being resolved till you are able to plant th HP and keep the suspension quite during launch.

Its actually very well prepped. I've gotten it to launch extremely hard on the street a few times playing around, but can't repeat it on the track.

I'll probably go with the sway bar delete, uca, qa1 shocks and better tires. Hopefully that will get it in the 11s.

You don't have to get a delete. I just disconnect the end links and it is night and day. I have cut several low 1.7x with my nitto's on good track prep.

I just unhook one side of the sway bar. Makes a big difference.

Is this a custom tune you are dealing with? Or something canned? I have had tuning issues cause bogging off of the line.
