I am just curious to find out how many people have actually blown there engine, whether it be throwing a rod, or whatever. I read about the horror stories on here and just wanted to see how many people have had this happen to them.

Imported the car from the States with the Hellion kit installed running a 444rwhp tune @9psi by the previous owner. Kit was on the car for maybe 5-10k miles and caboom. When thinking back it´s all kinda blurry regarding why or how it happened ... just rods bent and broken and holes in the block, shit happens. Been running forged since

So it blew with 444 whp, thats to bad. How do you like your Hellion Kit now?

Well some say torque brakes rods .. who knows :) The Hellion kit is restrictive due to the plumbing (sits really low and you can´t use long tubes) but I´ve learned to live with it. I really love the head jerkin´ kick the turbo gives you, always have since my 944Turbo days.

I blew my stock 4.6 with a 3.25inch pulley on a eforce supercharger. Throwed a rod and ported the block. But I can't blame it just on the supercharger because I had n2o prior to that. My car was ticking before it let go, upon tearing down the motor I noticed that my wrist pins was toasted. Wore out. I now have a aluminator with stock heads cams. Everything seems ok now

What did you do to blow your engine twice?

Broke a connecting rod in the factory motor at 12psi making 530+rwhp,
and melted a piston in my first built engine at 18psi. Engine 2 I blame mostly on a shitty tune.

Engine 3 is running strong, after being tuned properly.

I had a 1985 Saab 900 I tricked out for racing. 4 cylinder, 16v, turbo from hell. 11 PSI, 315 HP, 340 TQ to the front wheels. Went too lean in a race and melted a hole clean through the top of a piston. Man, that thing sprayed oil EVRYWHERE. LOL

I also lost an NA 318 due to heads overheating and cracking.

No problems with the GT...

I blew mine up with D-1 Procharger running 12lbs. Put 3 holes in block. One hole under intake, and one on each sidedirectly in line with starter. Part of the piston from #8 cyl was on opposite side a-arm. I have some nice pics of tear down.

So most people blow up when putting too much strain on the stock motor.
