When I put Recaros in my Taurus I had an air bag light come on.

I used 2.2ohm resistors in the plugs for the airbags in the dash, but i didn't have airbags in my seats. A 2.2oh resistor will also work for your factory seat belts if you wanted to remove them for race harnesses. i just soldered some short pieces of wire to the ends of the resistor and tinned the ends of the wire so i could push them into the plugs easier. They of course sell resistor plugs like this on amazon for this exact purpose.

Gas tank deflectors and hardware 4lbs 11oz.

I removed mine today 'cause I discovered the rubber had completely disintegrated. The remaining hardware weighed a hair under 3lb. I ordered new replacements from Tasca Parts and these appear to be plastic so they'll hardly weigh anything.

The gas tank front shield for the right side carries part no. 8R3Z-9B007-C, and the corresponding part for the left side carries part no. BR3Z-9B007-B.

I removed those shields when I installed my subframe connectors.

The rubber was brittle and falling apart.

Passenger airbag with all metallic hardware = 6.8lb.

I removed mine and clipped only the black plastic blanking panel that says "airbag' back into the dash. Two 2.2ohm.resistors plugged into the four-pin wiring connector took care of the airbag light.

That's what i did with the passenger side airbag. So easy to remove and put back just the panel

Just like the title says, What is the Weight of stock 4.6 Valve covers?

Can someone please weigh a set of stockers and post a pic of the weight?

I'm trying to compare between a stock set and ford racing covers which are 5.7 lbs each.

I have a spare set but would have to drag out my scale to weigh them.

Honestly I would suspect the covers are identical in weight. I bought a set of black wrinkle powdercoated covers and they are identical to the stockers.

i believe the painted ones would weigh like .014 grams due to the coating,,
if that tho.

the painted ones are just that,,
stock valve covers ,, that get engraved and powdered coated

Thank you this is what I'm hoping they are to be honest.
So my scale in the pics shows these ford racing ones are 90.83 oz / 5.68 lbs and 90.58 oz / 5.66 lb, unless my scale is wrong.

This is s great thread, my bone stock ‘08 Shelby GT is @ 3,490ish, it weighed at our local landfill at 3,740, 1/2 tank gas & me at 200lbs.

I’ll be removing the easy/cheap bits first, but I’d be happier under @3,400.

A lighter LTH axle back system goes on this wkd, next out is the washer fluid, rear seatbelt h/w, spare tire pump, & shaker 1000 sub box.

Any issue with pulling out that 13 lb. evap system & just putting a mini K&N vent in it’s place?..will it affect any ECU data or calibration?

Latest weight with Wilwood calipers, 2-pc. rotors, subwoofer removed & a light axle back sys is 3,415 lbs.. Rear seatbelts, h/w & washer fluid are next.
