How much would 4.10's help?

I am wanting to do 4.10s in my car, and am wondering if people have run their cars before and after install and what their results were? I am just curious what I can expect in terms of overall added fun, better track times, etc.

my current setup: 05gt manual trans, jlt intake/bama tune, x pipe no cats, sway bar removed, eagle f1 285s. Last time to the track was 13.7@103 2.2 60 foot time.

thanks for the info!

4.10s are a great mod for a 3650 equipped car. It will keep the car in the power band better. If your not running at least DRs at the track the 4.10s will not help, you will just spin more. With similar mods plus suspension work,1 piece DS,DRs, I ran a best of 12.57 @ 109. DA was +500.

That's a great time and I would love to have that trap speed as well. I'm sure I need more time behind the wheel at the track to lay down some better times. I have run the car probably 20 times at the track and I am very consistent(ly slow) with my 60 foot times and ET. 99% of the time I am just driving the car on the street so I'd like to do some mods that make the car, generally, more fun. Of course hitting 12's would be ideal too.. :)

Slap those 4.10s in there and some DR's and watch how you're running mid-12s with some seat time

Nothing much more fun that that :)

if it were me id do the tires first...after the gears your only gonna spin anyways and that wont help your 60 ft at all...also with the tire depending on your selection( how tall a tire) you will want to see for sure if 4:10's will allow you to finish through the traps at the correct rpm range you may want to look at other selections say 3:73 ,3:55 ect

Look at the OP's mods, 4.10s are the solution. But you are def right, without better tires and/or a set of DR's for the track, you can kiss the fun goodbye because you'll be spinning all over the place :hammer:

A sway bar delete is a good mod for the track helps with weight transfer, lets the front rise more and takes off some weight.
Plus you don't even notice the front sway bars are gone on the street under normal use.

get some tires!

I highly recommend 4.10s, absolutely love mine. Before the blower that was the best mod, completely changed the car.

I have 4.10s and have not had a need for DRs. 1.873 60 foot on 275 555s at 35 PSI.

I do agree that tires are the foundation for everything but they do not have to be DRs

The 4.10s work well, but you'll definitely need a sticky tire to get the most out of them. If you've already removed your swaybar, the swaybar delete mount will drop some weight, but won't really affect your launch very much. If you're planning to do more drag racing, UPR/Eibach Drag Springs, Strange 10-way shocks, and UPR upper & lower control arms will help considerably.

This is what I was hoping to hear.. Because the mods I've done so far have helped a little bit in terms of my "butt dyno", so I really want something to take the car to the next level. Soooo how about brand recommendations, what do you guys use??? Ford racing?

Im really only at the track once in a while.. 99% of the time im just punching it from a roll in first or second on my way to work or home.. the goal is essentially to make the car more fun during that time. Aaaaaaand if i could squeeze a 12 second pass out of it, that wouldn't hurt anything either... :)

Darkzide, Do you think you could have got into the 12s without some of your suspension mods? I ask only because I doubt I will go as far as you did suspension wise, but would still like to hit 12s..
