I know the best way to fix the dirty look of the stock metal calibers is to replace them, but I'm broke :sigh1: I thought about having them clearcoat powder coated because I want them to keep the stock appearance (I'm all about leaving the car bone stock in looks)but what would be the best way to clean them first? I have tried break cleaners and different metal cleaners all with poor results. They look pretty decent but not good enough to powder coat yet. What do you guys do to clean your stock calibers?

Sorry, CALIPER!!! :) Stupid spell check changed it on me :) That's what I get for not trusting my own spelling.

Due to the casting grain, the sandpaper idea will do virtually nothing.

What you need is something more like this...

Alumina works well; Aluminator is the "weaker" product.

Both work really well for me and don't harm surfaces.

Combine this with a stiff bristle brush, nylon or softer wire and maybe a Scotchbrite and you should be all clean again.

Thanks, I'll check it out and maybe give it a shot. This stuff sounds promising. Thanks again.
