Guys, is there a way on these cars to crank the engine over without starting? I just finished my cam install and the engine's been sitting all winter, I'd like to build some oil pressure before i start it. Was just wondering if there was any easy way to do that.

Using the starter?

Remove the fuse to the fuel pump and take the COPs off

For the older models if you floor it the ECU shuts off the injectors. I would imagine that happens with these as well.

Would I need to worry about cutting the spark as long as the fuel pump wasn't running?

BTW 01yellercobra, I know that's supposed to work but I haven't had complete luck with that method in the past. I was trying to do that on some newer vehicle (I can't even remember what it was now), floored the pedal and cranked it, it started and revved to the moon:thumbsdown:

It works in these cars

PCM sees no RPM, no RPM=nothing.

Thanks Lito. Same solution, different methods
