What were your other mods? I pulled out 385 hp and 395 torque running way rich in high humidity. I leaned out the jets and have not been back on the dyno but gained .4 in the qtr since.
Tunable inductions intake, 3.73 gears, offroad x, and thats it. No u/d pullies, no delete plates. Here is the sheet.

Nick: wow, what a surprise...I didn't know someone from HSW was on here...good to know and thanks for your comments! Let me pick your brain....what is your recommendation as to the AFR that I should aim for? 11.5 or 12 for most of the curve? I know it has a peak in the 4400 to 5000 area of the curve (can't remember exactly). Is it ok if it touches or slightly surpasses 12.5 along the curve? I need as much guidance as possible in this regard.

I try and make my way around all the boards in case there are any tech questions about nitrous. I find that the leading reason that nitrous isn't considered as a power adder is because its really given a bad rap and there is a lot of mis-information out there. When used by informed people and in conjunction with the proper safety items, nitrous is safe and consistent.

To your question, Matt above is correct. Target around 11.8:1. Rich can be just as dangerous as lean. Don't take that the wrong way though, as we do have a fairly large window of operation and a couple of hits on the rich side won't nearly be as detrimental as 1 hit really lean. But repetitive rich use can wash the cylinders down, crack ring lands, etc. especially on large hits.

Nick, you guys make a great kit, and a lot of guys on the forum are interested, any ideas of a forum discount?

Didn't mean to hijack.....

MrClean, let us know the new numbers with the retuned a/f....

I'm not sure on a discount but we are looking into sponsorship of the site. I will ask to see if a discount is possible.

Looks like the hp and tq lines follow the a/f pretty closely, what does the lean spike hit on a/f chart? Looks like it takes some time to recover too...is this with the stock pump?

5spd or auto? I have ORH, pulleys and delete plates. I;m just shocked by the torque numbers. What jets are you running??

i also am getting way more torque. i dynoed 385 hp and 460 ft tq. with a zex 100 shot. i dont think running richer would cause your torque to be so low. with nitrous your torque is usually alot higher than your hp.

I know thats why I am scratching my head here. I expected torque to be at least 440 or more. I know the auto is limiting me some but I still expected a bit more. After Doug dyno'd my car I changed the jets a little bit too but did not run the tune he wrote me for a month or so. I went to the track ran a 12.54 on the old settings. Then at the track I checked my nozzle in my CAI, well it was stripping out and leaking some of the go fast juice. Wondering if on the dyno it was not in all the way as well. Last pass I ran a 12.11 and the car felt much better to me. Cant wait to get some DR's on it and leave on the spray as now it doesn't spray till 2nd. I'm getting on the dyno within the next month once it cools off some too.

Your HP and TQ both take a dip at about 3700 rpm, which looks like you might have had too much timing and your PCM detected knock and fell back to a less aggressive timing map.

Something Richard at Strictly told me was that the torque peak is highest when at lower rpm...which correlates to what you have here: the spray was hit at slightly less than 2500 rpm, and on my runs he usually doesn't hit it until~3700, which is where your torque surge ends.

When I get the jets from HSW (Nick: I got the email stating they'd been shipped today), and I re-dyno aiming for 11.8 AFR, I'll ask Richard to stomp on the the gas right at 2500, to see what comes of it.

Stock pump, not sure what that spike was.Alternative auto did the tune. However, that was last year and i ran 20 plus bottles through it on the street and at the track, with that same tune and 125 shot. Then this spring, i hit it on the highway at about 70 mph,had a backfire through the intake.....and well you know the rest. A few holes in the block, shattered the piston and rod, what a mess!
The car did hesitate a little and the overdrive was not off.So i assume too low of an rpm? That was 125 shot with stock pump.
Now, no more nitrous (i am still a fan of it though) just not on my daily driver. Here is a pic

I just looked at that graph again. I can't see the bottom of it, but it does look like it hits at around 2500? That is too low of an rpm unless you're running a progressive controller. Nitrous is not RPM based and doesn't know what the piston speed is and will load the cylinder up at low RPMs. More content = more boom = more stress. Hence why we use window switches. I would also recommend that you not attempt this on the dyno. All it takes is once and its all over. Torque output will also be dependent on fuel and timing as well.

Yea way too much of a load. What was the timing set to?

i have the hsw plate and stand alone fuel cell and love it. i agree that with the right tune/tuner nitrous is just as safe and effective as any other power adder but comes at a lower cost

Pics? How safe is the stand alone system? I worry about having a tank of gas sitting under my hood

ill try and get some pics of my setup soon. having the stand alone under the hood is not uncommon, the cell is small. my boyfriend has a hsw stand alone in his trans am and has never had any problems
