We have one in service. PCM told one of the injectors to stay open and flooded the engine and it is hydrolocked. Has like 100 miles on it or something.

They are warrantying the engine of course. The ford rep that came in said supposedly this is the first occurence for that.

Wow! I hope that is a freak occurrence. If not that could wind up being very costly.

We just had one where part of the clutch material was torn away from the clutch plate. Didn't look burned. Covered under warranty, although the parts are on backorder and we had to swap one from a car in stock.

Was it actually the PCM or just a faulty injector that got stuck open?

I would be willing to be it was just a faulty injector.

the 5.4 3v engines had a big problem with injectors sticking open and taking out engines. I bet I have replaced at least 10 in the past 3 years for it.

also at my dealer had one with a faulty pcm, injector drivers in pcm were corrupt and causing lots of problems, ended up with a new wiring harness and pcm.

Knowing Beefcake, he'll just toss it for a 2012 Boss 302 anyway. I wouldn't worry about him.

That's true. Lucky, for me, mine is problem free *Knock on wood* and I bought it in Feb. '05. I forgot the build date though, I'd have to check the build sheet when I get home. (I think it was Sept. '04 ??)

+1, thats why I am waiting to get one until the 2012 or 2013 model year. As much as I want the extra power, its not worth the hassle of the down time, considering I would only have the one car!
