This is the move I have thought about as well.A 07 09 gt500 prices are decent and tons of potential on power.
Ive even shopped around myself..... You can find very nice cars in the mid 30k range.....

FINALLY someone said it...... I may be wrong, but isnt it cheaper to just throw one of these in a 05-10 car the financing another 30K plus interest? Instant beefier 5.0 without that awful ass......
http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63072 $7500 for the motor...
Thats what I would do... just sayin

You pose a good argument and had me rechecking my figures. Pretty much I'm paying $25k to upgrade to an 11 GT.

I could spend $8k on a whipple/kb installed and dyno tuned to 450rwhp. Later on I could get a forged motor installed for $5k. Add another $2.5k for a built trans and I'm good on power. $16k later and I'm as fast as my tires and suspension can handle and could blow a 5.0 out the water. Only hang ups I see are potential reliability issues, no easy warranty repairs (can't just drop the car off) and my insurance wouldn't pay out if she gets stolen or totaled.

Oh yeah, forgot the biggest benefit of a new 11. 0% loan for 5 years.

good luck finding an 11 gt. all my dealers locally are out of them. the only thing they are selling around here are the 12's and you don't get 0% on them.

Do what the heart wants! My 06 seems kinda old in years being thats its 2011, but I have only owned it for 20 months and I still love it. Its become that special kind of car to me. I thought about the fiveOh thing.....but decided on a blower for my old 06. I am enjoying my potentially low 12 second car(gotta shaftmaster DS to install) with only $25k invested. New fiveOh and the mods to make it right would be way more than that.

That's already taken care of. Going to look at it today.

Screw you guys I'm going the c6 z06 route! Haha jk about "screw you guys" but not kidding about the Z. I was looking at 11 GT500s or the Z and the vette just wins hands down to me in everything. Gonna try to keep the Mustang though so that will be good, I can still be apart of the family :stooges:

This thread has really got me thinking....

I love my car, it's pretty quick no where near fast enough but it gets the job done as is. Boltons seem fucking pointless at this point. 600$ for 8rwhp, yeah fuck that.

I'm only 19 (turned it like 2 weeks ago) So not in the positon to go out and buy a new car and make payments on top that. My question is:

To those boosted 3v's that turned their car back to stock form in order to get a new 5.0.... Why? I know everyone has their reasons but... Was it just not making enough power? Too many problems? I want to go boosted but not if I am just gonna turn around and try and sell it. Only thing I could get rid of my car for is a 04 cobra or a GT500
