My baby has been under the weather lately:
Long road trip across the western US (4k miles, Mobil 1 oil), damn check engine light came on (new fuel cap), filthy (hand wash only), new tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season), got a speeding ticket in UT (totally my fault, dammit), water on the passenger floor (rogue grommet), stinky cabin air filter (replaced), electrical problems (new alternator), renewed the license plate tabs (our gov't at work), new rear shocks (yellow koni's), new wipers, yada yada yada. Poor baby.
But after all the noise, the money, the time, the stress, this afternoon I took it for a ride. Perfect. Pristine. Sublime. As good as I can recall. It's been ten years, 108k miles, and the damn thing is working as good as ever. Maybe better.
The guy that installed the tires a few days ago complimented me on the car. Nice fellow.
Makes it all worthwhile.
