He does nice work unfortunately it is designed wrong. The front edge should flare out not go straight. How much are you actually loosing I don't know but do a search you find 99% of velocity stacks have rounded edges flaring perpendicular from the air intake.

the main point of this setup is to have somewhere to mount the meth nozzle

if we pick up a little from the volute like design, then thats just a plus
