Damn, this shifter is bad ass. The only thing I would have done differently is I would replace the rear isolator with aluminum and run bolts back there opposed to pins. But I like my shifters the have absolutely zero flex in them.

Nice work Barton.

Damn that is a serious shifter. Install probably sucks with everything in the car. Have to try and find the install video. Wonder how it does with 1PC driveshafts???

I'm designing something like this for my '08 this coming winter. Nobody is going to bring anything to market. Replacing the nylon bearing in the Roush shifter with a steel spherical, (I think, there are plastic solutions available, I'll look into it once I have the thing dismantled and see what dimensions are like.. going to need to machine a sleeve no matter what.)

There isn't much clearance, this is basically exactly what I had in mind, unless there's something besides the trans mount to hook on to.

Ugh I hate how everything gets better. I didn't watch the whole video, if you have the Barton can this just be added?

They had a good shifter in the 05-09's before the redesign and took out the adjustment of throw from inside the car. This thing for the MT82's looks like you could hang the trans from it. Nice Barton.

those last two bolts that attach the legs are going to be the biggest pain in the ass, I think....there will be little to no clearance trying to get those bolts in lol

Pic of it installed:

Looks heavy as a block of cement! :dead2:

Yeah I was wondering what the weight of it was. Looks hefty to say the least but you get a driveshaft loop with it from the looks of it.

Barton makes the FRPP shifter, well it's the Barton with Fords name on it.

That's what my thought was. I mean, I know their the same so was just curious.

If the throw reduction is still above 40 something percent then it's still not doing much by way of saving your trans. George has said several times that he keeps his so low (in the low 20%) because anything above that is hard on the synchros and makes it notchy.

I'll stick with my race spec. I love this damn shifter lol
