Well I got my magnaflow competition 3" cat back installed with my lethal performance offroad xpipe..

If you are doing this in your garage its a bit tricky. I had to put the car on jackstands, lower the diff, unbolt the bottom of the shock and lower it as far as I could. The driver side came out with some help, the passenger side, I had to pull off the panhard bar brace, and pull the spring out.

Once the old was out the new went right in. However, the lethal xpipe seems to be about 2" to long. I had to trim a bit off the catback to get everything to line up.

After all that, it simply sounds amazing. It has the perfect tone while cruising and sounds orgasmic at WOT.

The quality of this system is top notch.

Thanks for posting. I installed the CHE axle brace with the LPW cover today and am now hitting the cat back on the brace. This is because the Lethal x-pipe is too long as you experienced. Over the weekend my goal is to trim some off of the stock cat back to get everything aligned correctly.

Fixed your YouTube link. ;)

Agree with the posters above about the pipe being too long, Cobra Mike had to trim his as well. He picked up 25 hp with the same setup. I can see how this could be tricky in the garage as we did his on the lift and the only "fun" part was the one passenger side header bolt that was interesting to get to.

Just for everyone that may do this in the future. The passenger side bolt is easy if you go from the top. Open the hood, use a long extension and a swivel socket, and its cake! But yes, the damn off road pipe is to long :yuck:

Wondered about that...but since it was on the lift and in the air we did not pursue that avenue but good to know for future referrence.

First off thank you all for purchasing one of our 3" offroad x-pipes. We're glad you all like how it sounds. Regarding fitment of the pipe I'm definitely concerned as we had this pipe made with a jig and it's based off of the stock length. We even tested 2 different pipes on our car to make sure it fit perfect. Neither the pre-production pipe or the production piece ever seemed too long or caused an issue with the catback. Keep in mind the whole time testing was done with the stock catback.

Only until we put on the Magnaflow 3" competition catback did we start experiencing fitment issues with the back half lining up. Most of the alignment issue we experienced was getting the tips to sit properly inside the bumper cutout.

With that said I'd like to ask all 3 of you whether you used our pipe with the stock catback or were they only installed with the Magnaflow system? My thinking is that since the pipe fit perfect with the stock catback and only experienced fitment issues with the Maganflow that the issue may indeed be the Magnaflow catback and not our x-pipe.

If indeed all 3 of you tried our offroad x with the stock catback and still had fitment issues I'll be sure to look into it tomorrow. I know we triple checked our pipe before releasing it to the public but I'm not going to rule anything out.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you guys.

I know on CobraMike's it was a Magnaflow CB system but not sure which one he used; he used the quieter of the 2 systems.

Hi Jared,

I cant speak for the others, but I had my Magnaflow catback first. I installed it onto the stock h pipe with stock manifolds/headers and the exhaust tips didnt stick out of the bumper real far. It looked the way (in my opinion) it should have. I then installed your off road x-pipe on the car this weekend and it pushed the exhaust tips out a couple of inches to far. Almost to the point where the muffler was going come out of the hanger. I trimmed my catback where it meets the x-pipe by a couple of inches and now it looks right again and the muffler is back further into the hanger. Its not a huge deal, but maybe take a look and see if they are being shipped to you a little long?

Thanks,

John

Jared,
Thanks for chiming in. I am running the stock cat back on my car. Couple of items to note:

1. When I installed the x-pipe, my exhaust tips stuck out from the rear fascia about 2" more than before the x-pipe install. Everything still cleared and had no issues with rubbing, etc...

2. I installed the CHE axle tube brace and LPW cover this weekend and the cat back was hitting the CHE brace due to the extra 2" the x-pipe pushed the stock cat back towards the rear. Today I dropped the cat back, trimmed exactly 2" off of the front where it mates to the x-pipe. This resolved the exhaust tips sticking out and the clearance issues with the CHE brace.

Recommendation:

Make the x-pipe 2" shorter. :) I will post some before and after pics later.
