Checked this out as well, turns out the excessive heat in driverside footwell, gradually increased firmness of clutch pedal on 15 min+ drives and "p0420" code = failing/collapsing drivers side cat.

Of course, my course of action will be to gut the cat, ill worry about getting a factory catted h pipe next year for SmogTesting.

JPC FTW on the braided clutch line. Reasonable price as well. Or I suppose the McLeod line with the bleeder for more cash but still less than the steel line FRPP option.

UPDATE: removed cats, no more excessive heat. Before removing the cats, I used a digital laser thermometer to compare the drivers side and passenger side exhuast manifolds and h-pipe before and at the cats.

Keep in mind, the engine had roughly 10 minutes to cool down between the time i positioned it over the lift, got it in the air and then realized that i have a digital thermometer... so results were:

(Drivers manifold 348 degrees) (Passenger manifold 318 degrees)
(Drivers H-pipe b4 cat 332 degrees) (Passenger H-pipe b4 cat 298 degrees)

Drivers side manifold 30 degrees hotter than passenger manifold.
Drivers side h-pipe before cat 34 degrees hotter than passenger side h-pipe b4 cat.
