replaced my 3:55 with 4:10's love it , The car is soooo much better to drive. I do not drive highway much. I even got better MPH driving around town.

I actually do drive quite a bit on the freeway/interstate and also definitely plan on some long tube headers, intake manifold and stage 1 cam's within the next year or so. I plan on staying naturally aspirated - no turbo or supercharger (i say that now of course).

You also have the option to not change a thing, and simply use gears 1-5 in the city and save 6th for the highway. An automatic can do the same by turning OD off.

Sometimes I wish I had left my 3.31s in and done this (I have a SC on mine so it is plenty powerful). It will be pretty peppy with the OD off and when you hit the highway, you turn OD back on and enjoy the good gas mileage and lower noise.

What would really be nice is if someone would come up with a 2 speed rearend for these cars and you could have a tall gear for the highway (2.73 or 3.08) and a low gear for racing (3.73, 4.11 etc.).

Someone used to make a two speed that you installed on the output shaft of the trans. then you cut down your drivrshaft. There was a single lever mounted on the trans tunnel, it looked like a small 4x4 tranfer case. Hot Rod or Car Craft mag did a test on them.

I went from 3.55 to 3.73 and I noticed quite a bit of difference in 3rd and 4th it kinda peels out in 3rd lol with 315 nitto 555r's or at least it did till i threw that rod... hmmmph....
