Miss my old car but the IAT issues in the summer are a bad memory. Kinda made me shy to going with a PD blower again whether other designs run cooler or not. Next time around I'm going with a centri.

I don’t have much Centri data. But from what I have seen they don’t run a whole lot cooler than a PD blower (excluding KB of course).

I’ve never lived with one, IDK.

My Procharger produced higher iats than the whipple did. The procharger temps were taken at the intercooler. Whipple were taken from an intake runner. The Procharger was producing boost pretty fast though. I saw 150 iat at the end of a pull with the Procharger at 19psi. The most I saw with the Whipple was 114 at 15psi.

I did have a Paxton that had low iats but it was only producing 10psi.

Would be a stock 5.0 engine and I have no intention of getting greedy so figure 8-9psi. As a general rule it seems like most of the complaining about IATs revolves around PD blower setups. Regardless the paxton + 5.0 is a proven combo. Leaning heavily that way.

My iats drop rapidly on acceleration with the procharger and meth water system. Even without the meth my iats actually continue to go down throughout a pull.

Hottest day was when I drove an hour and a half to the dyno pulled it right in and strapped it down. iats were in the 140s then while getting into 4th they dropped to 134 and by the end of the pull they were at 114 temps outside were in the 90s

I went out to Woodward (the metro Detroit cruise area) Friday night because I haven't been out there in a while. It got down to 60deg out. FANTASTIC FI weather! I did a few "demonstration hits" which is basically smoking the tires off from 40-90mph for a few guys/cars that thought they were racing me. Highest IAT I saw was 112deg. Awesome!

Understood. I wish I'd gone with the 2.8 and just underspun it until I could move to a forged rotating assembley. But it's my first time with FI. If I can't achieve the number, I might have to move to a 2.8 because I don't recall seing any custom elbows - though larger inlet piping probably woudn't prove too troublesome.

The KB 2.8 is a horrible 12 psi blower! It needs to spun hard 20psi+ for its sweet spot. For less than 20 psi ~ 650rwhp the 2.6 is still a better option in my opinion. You mean a custom 2.6 inlet like this? Lol

Bye-bye M90. Enjoyed you on my stock 4.6. But now it's time to give this big 326 stroker what she deserves.

Winter project is officially underway. Don't really have a timeline. But the 2.8L liquid cooled Mammoth and other mods I hope to keep me busy through the cold winter until I drive it again in mid March. The throttle body is a beast compared to stock lol.
