Hey everyone, I have a 2006 Ford Mustang V6. Under the driver side dashboard there is a large hole in the firewall. I tried to view diagrams to order parts but I couldn't find the information. I was hoping to buy a simple rubber grommet. I need this hole plugged because there is an exhaust leak. I also can feel hot engine air blowing on my lower legs from this hole. The engine exhaust leak is allowing fumes to enter the cabin through this hole. Do I have do go to a junk yard on this one guys? Or is there a part number? Or is there some sorta material I can stuff this hole with?

I have an '06 auto and that spot has the same issue on mine. I sealed it with butyl inside and out but I'd say a combination of some scrap plastic (cut to fit) and thick two-sided tape along with butyl inside and out should do the job. I used that hole to run cabling into the cabin for sensors/gauges/controls and the like. If there is some kind of grommet/seal that goes there I've never seen it.

You could temporarily cover the hole with some gaffer (duct) tape until you find a large rubber grommet to cover it permanently.
