Leaking... Driveshaft?

was changing my oil today and noticed some oil or grease stains slung around where the boot connects the two pieces of the driveshaft, also at the boot on the rear of the driveshaft. im assuming its just a torn boot in the middle but has anyone else had this happen? i lowered that car and reset the angle to around 2 degrees i believe but could i have messed up and this is from stress on it? any input is appreciated, thanks.

No direct experience but it is odd to me that both ends are leaking. How many miles on the car? If there are a lot, you may want to get a one-piece driveshaft, or, see if a local transmission shop can provide new boots.

Not a lot of help but something to think about.

It looks like the rubber has rotted away, that is a CV joint with the bellows -generally the shaft is replaced as an assembly.

I had this happen to me too, and my car was also lowered ~2" at the time. I'm not exactly sure when it happened; I just noticed the grease when I was pulling the transmission. I replaced the driveshaft with a one-piece aftermarket model and haven't had any problems since 2015 when this happened.

Just a question, what angle did you reset 2 degrees?
I've lowered 4 other 11/14 Mustangs and never changed any angle, not even the alignment.

Those boots are wear items, much like a cv joint in a fwd car.

With the 2 piece driveshaft there is no need to adjust the pinion angle.

Might want to check alignment/camber. Especially if you notice tire wear towards the inside. If alignment is out try spinning the top of the strut mount 180. Worked for me. Near perfect .7/.8 (Stock is .75).
